My drawing of Akua
Drawing Sumo related stuff for every Sunday until I achieve my dreams of seeing it in person. Akua seems like a chill guy. Someone who would be fun to hang out with.

Drawing Sumo stuff for every Sunday until I achieve my dream of seeing it in person. Continuing drawing the Tatsunami boys. I love Tsukubayama's smile so much. He seems so shy so its extra special to see him smile or laugh on camera!
Tatsuosho!
Drawing Sumo stuff every Sunday until I achieve my dream of seeing it in person. I was making my way slowly drawing all the Tatsunami boys when I got the sad news that Tatsuosho has retired from Sumo. Sumo careers can sadly often burn very short (its a hard life) but whatever Tatsuosho goes to do next I wish him all the best of luck and success!
Not sure why but this was removed from r sumo... fine just a warning to sumo fans to not fall for a scam book. Scam Warning! My wonderful partners mother fell for an ai scam book and make sure you dont either! The so called "book" called "The Soul of Sumo" is entirely ai generated. It has no author and is filled with cheap slop stolen from better books about sumo. The "information" at best is a bunch of flowery pointless lists that have no substance whatsoever. Cheap paper cheap slop content, avoid at all costs unless you want to read an entire chapter thats just a long summary of the Netflix show Sanctuary.
Key things to look out for to be able to spot scam ai slop books -
1: no author or weird ass generic publications house (this one is called Bibliotheque Tokyo Press dufuck does that mean)
2: long lists, bullet points and sentences that have no meaning other then filler (look at the blurb at the back of this book its bullet point list)
3: its not just A its also B type sentences
4: :what my dumb ass calls use of the triple commas sentences ( eg- the rituals, traditions, and hidden world of Japans nation sport - or - its a ritual, a drama of silence, a choreography of bodies shaped by centuries)
To those not bugged by Ai content the larger issue is the content is like reading a piss poor essay written by a hung over collage frat boy flunking his Japanese history class. Filled with pointless chapters, lists and information that would be more fun to just read of the NHK website where it got most the info
Edit: Im an idiot and I realise I missed a clear rule on the r/sumo subreddit which is the reason my post got removed. My bad!
I had way too much fun drawing Yukiamami today.
Rooting for you Yukiamami!!!!!
Drawing Sumo for every Sunday until I achieve my dream of seeing it in person.
Been following the Tatsunami beya this basho and the last Taranami match he seemed to really hurt his shoulder by falling on it and looked quite injured. Since that day hes been out but I haven't heard any injury or kyujo report anywhere? Anyone know if hes okay or what sort of injury he got?
Finally got access to a scanner. Had it sent from the uk along with some more pens.

Today's Sunday Sumo drawing is dedicated to my Tatsunami Brothers, Kiryuko and Shunrai. Im gutted that Kiryuko has been injured just when he was climbing back up. Im hoping it won't cause a big set back and I can see both brothers thrive in Sumo again!
Drawing Sumo for every Sunday until I achieve my dream of seeing it in person. Have had some health set backs recently (which sadly placed my September sumo dreams on hold!!!) and im in recovery post surgery so not super happy with my lack of access to the drawing equipment I usually have. So for the time being please accept my meger meme sketch image of Ura in a tutu. But oh well rather have a lack of drawing equipment and time then be in crippling pain! In some nicer news a project collaboration with the fine folk at Cheeky Sumo has finally gone live. Very proud of my Ura Magic shirt design, I hope the Ura fans out there approve!
Shirt is live and available to buy if y'all want for a limited time only.

Drawing Sumo for every Sunday until I achieve my goal of seeing them in person. This is last Sumo drawing I drew in the UK before departing for what I thought would be a short trip to Poland. Happy Rikishi eating their daily Chanko!
Currently in Poland post operation in recovery for the next 3 months so enjoy this scanned artwork. Will try my best to have another Sumo drawing for next Sunday but due to health limitations I have no clue if I will be able to continue my Sunday Sumo drawing challenge.
Like my work check out more of it here
So im far from home. Waiting for surgery. Tomorrow I get admitted into the hospital. My bank account drained and Japan trip in September completely ruined. The NHS unfortunately lied to me about my condition and made it worse... so please accept my apologies that this Sunday Sumo I've done something a bit different. I've drawn an exaggerated version of Hoshoryu. Demon hoshoryu if you will. He will be my spirit protector. The one that will help me fight on as I enter my surgery and continue to be far from home in recovery.
I have one more sumo drawing that I managed to do before I left the UK on what I thought was gonna be a short trip. But its alot more cheery and fun and I wanted draw something to represent the fury and vengeance I wish to bring back when I'm healthy. DEMON HOSH FIGHT FOR ME!
Anyways thanks for listening to my unhinged sweaty rant. My brain is melting from stress and heat.
Okay. Enjoy this Sunday sumo drawing since I only have two drawings in the bank (this and next weeks one) and im currently dealing with massive health problems and medical stuff far from home so hopefully I can continue my Sunday Sumo drawing tradition.
My health and potential need for emergency surgery has put my Japan trip in September in absolute make-koshi and complete risk of not making it. So my sumo dreams seem to be squashed at the moment.
I hope you enjoy my Atamifuji drawing I made as a birthday present for a friend whose just gotten into sumo and is in love with the pudding boy.
Drawing sumo stuff for every Sunday until I hopefully achieve me dream of seeing it in person.
Ichiyamamoto in the dohyo pre fight looks like bored salary man wanting to go home after a long meeting.
Ichiyamamoto outside of the ring looks like a hyper 8 year old who just ate a bowl of sugar.
I love Ichiyamamoto.

Drawing Sumo for every Sunday until I hopefully achieve my dream of seeing them in person. Drew everyone's favourite Apple boy Okaryu. Took me a few tries to get his roundness right. Especially since my partner loves him so I had to get it right. We like to call him appy boy in my house. I hope I get to see him in person one day.

Drawing Sumo for every Sunday until I hopefully one day achieve my dream of seeing it in person. Really love watching Kazuma or the Fridge as my household like to call him. Steamrolling the competition in Juryo. I hope he continues well if he gets up to Makuuchi and everyone enjoys the current king of wideness.

ENHO! 炎鵬 友哉!!! For six months I've been suffering with chronic back pain and in the last couple weeks my situation has drastically deteriorated to the point where I now struggle to walk. While I've been dealing with the biggest pain I've ever experience and the scary aspect of drastically reduced mobility, in these dark times Enho has become a huge inspiration. After he suffered a terrible spinal injury it seemed as if he'd never walk again let alone step foot back on the Dohyo. He fell to the very bottom ranks and after his miraculous recovery and his hard work he managed to fight his way back up to Juryo. At 5ft 5 and 100 kg this guy is almost always the smallest in the fight and yet he keeps fighting and winning. This tiny cat who refuses to say die has been a fighting inspiration to me struggling in my dark times with my own spinal injury.
So this Sumo Sunday drawing I'd dedicated to him. May he keep fighting strong!

While I recover from my back injury please enjoy a commission I finished for this Sumo Sunday. Wakatakakage and his epic name! Fun commission. First time I did text on my Sumo art.
Unfortunately my back has decided to give out. I'm on morphine waiting for surgery. Sumo is giving me strength though! The stories of the rikishi's who persevered despite terrible injuries gives me some hope and reason to keep going even though I'm experiencing the worst pain I have ever gone through in my short life. Hopefully I will be in less pain before next Sunday so I can accomplish my next Sumo drawing!

Finished this commission for an Atamifuji fan. While I love Atami the tomato as a fan of Aonishiki this was a bit of a heartbreaking one to draw haha. Pushed my self to draw the crowd on this one even though I was drawing on A4 so the faces where quite tiny for my oversized hands. You can see the timelaspe of my process here https://www.instagram.com/reel/DX4pMRLM2qE/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
