Scammed.

As the title says, I've basically been scammed by Crunch. I got sold a package that I was told by a Fitness Director, didn't exist and they still are charging me the usual package, even as I'm going through the process of canceling.

Basically, I went in for my Crunch KickOff and was told the 50% on the first month offer, then the usual afterwards. So it would be $90 the first month, and then $180 for the other two, since this was a 3-month contract. One training a week, for 30 minutes. I said I found that too much and asked for other plans, if they had something cheaper, essentially.

I was offered $90 for the first month, with all four weekly trainings, but then, my contract would differ in the fact that it would stay $90 the other two months, and I would have biweekly training. I also asked for it to be billed $45 every two weeks. The trainer and Fitness Director both helped come up with said plan and even drafted up the contract right then and there. Cut to a month later, I'm noticing I got charged $90 back to back, totalling $180 for that month. I call for this, get told the Fitness Director is busy and he will call me back. He doesn't.

I go in person. That's when I am told that the Fitness Director who made my contract was let go for botching contracts, and the current one, who used to be my trainer the one who agreed to that fake package even, tells me that directly in person. He even told me the package didn't exist. I'm still getting charged for the month even as I'm canceling. I just feel there is more I should be doing because they both literally lied to me. As I'm looking at the reviews of said gym too, others are reporting being lied to about their contracts by that first Fitness Director too and the gym is "handling" this by pressuring people to continue those contracts or to charge them for an extra month even as they go to cancel. I can't get a hold of corporate, and a talk with the gym has only led to them trying to sell it to me or gaslight me about it.

I saw previous advice to either go to FTC or BBB, but I don't even know where to start the process, or how to even file it.
