Just got some new ice dyes, been trying them out one at a time. First up was Snow Maiden. Both were inclined in foil trays. First one is DOI, second DUI. Definitely got more color splitting and saturation with dye over the ice, though both used the roughly the same amount of dye. The deity with DUI barely split at all, but I still love the feathering.
Even when the shirts don’t look how they should, I love the neat surprise effects that these simple rolls can bring along.
Somehow got a bird face, unmistakably bird, in the first one even though the colors all flattened out almost everywhere else. It was plum, sage green, and bronze, but they mixed together to just make a dull grey mostly. Would have been really disappointed but the bird and all the ghostly skull like artifacts make me totally love it instead.
Second one is burgundy and bluebird. There are rust spots from my cookie rack that i did not realize has been rusting until this moment. But this one got an eyeball right in the center on the back! It’s the little easter eggs like that that make it all worthwhile. Even the “duds” end up with super cool effects.
