Thanks in advance!
But my kid did so great on his end of year test! 99th percentile in math and 98th in reading!
This was my first year homeschooling so I feel so relieved that he showed progress. Tbh I felt pretty unprepared in September.
Thanks to this group for all the help over the last year!
Hey all! I came across this science kit based curriculum and I thought I'd ask if anyone had experience with it? It is called Science Unlocked and it is sold by Home Science Tools.
I've never seen it mentioned (I even searched the sub!) but it seems pretty good!
The kits cover chemistry, physics, engineering, earth science, and biology. They have premade packages for a whole year of science, or you can get individual kits. They seem pretty open and go, with a teacher's manual, activity book, and all the materials in a box. Individual ~month long kits are $45 and the year bundle is $250. So a bit pricey but perhaps worth it?
(the hunt for the right science curriculum continues)
Hey does anyone have their kid(s) in an after-school program? Perhaps a program designed for public/private school kids?
Like The Boys and Girls club, YMCA, childcare programs at churches, etc.
My plan to enroll my kid (an only child) in a private micro school part time may not workout so I'm trying to think of other ideas.
Any thoughts or advice?
How did you all get started on homeschooling??
Did your family or family friend help you get started? Showing you materials or books to read?
Did you rely on the good ol internet?
Did you hire a homeschooling tutor who taught you what you'd need to get started or find curricula for you?
