Some more work on the keelbox of my 3D Printed Yacht design on Fusion | UPDATE 5

The keelbox is made out of two pieces, a counterpiece keelbox slot that fits at the bottom of the hull and it will be glued, and a keelbox that sits on top of the counterpiece and it is glued too.
The keelbox, as you've seen in the previous updates is kept straight thanks to two side supports.
A hole on top of the keelbox allows for secure the keel into place.
Keelbox and its counterpiece are going to be printed separetly

Moving forward on my rc sailing yacht i am designing on Fusion. Joints contact points added | UPDATE 4

I've just created the joints to allow for a proper glueing and reduce the risk of leaks. I'll need to move the reinforcements I showed in the previous post or to remove them completely at this point.
I added a few slots for some bolts to be screwed on, not sure these will be needed.

3D printed sailboat - Internal reinforcements - UPDATE

I've started working on the reinforcement and internal accessories support of the Dufour 44. There are a lot of complications at this point because it is important to follow the hull shapes.

You can notice the holes in the bulkhead reinforcement, this is to reduce the weight above the waterline while keeping a sturdy structure. You can also see the keelbox and the mast supports.

This position of the reinforcement might still change as I still need to work on the joints between hull pieces. Not sure how im gonna do that yet

Next up for the Dufour 44 is going to be the sidescuttle and the paint work which is very characteristic! I welcome any advice =)

I divided the hull into 4 sections, each section is then divided into left and right side + the superstructure pieces which are going to be at least 2. Next I am going to work on the internal supports and reinforcements.
Side are going to the extruded to leave space for the windows (/portholes)

Bowsie tensioner to 3D print

I’ve just created a design of a bowsie tensioner. The Bowsie is free to download and you can find it in maker world. You can adjust its size on the slicer and it works great 🙂 let me know your thoughts

For those who don't know the Bowsie is a small sliding adjuster used to adjust and hold the tension on the forestay, backstay.
Comment Bowsie if you want me to share the link!

Greek Fishing Trawler - 9 Inches

This was a simple laser cut model I saw on Alixpress. Super fun build. Only 9" long, it needs calm weather sailing.
