Open house rant
We've been in the property 4 months. Owner is selling. 1st inspection for sale today and I caught one of the "potential buyers" stealing from a bedroom (I'd set up a cheap camera in the bedroom and lounge room only this morning).
I confronted her and she was completely unfazed. Her excuse was "it's not stealing, I thought the house is empty".
I'm there yelling and swearing at her in the front yard and the 3 agents on site were just standing there and wouldn't give me her details to add to my police report. One of them later admitted he thinks she wasn't registered for the inspection and gave false information, yet they still let her through. Angry is an understatement
Earlier she'd asked the agent if there were any more open homes in the street or an area (Slacks Creek), so keep an eye out for her if you're in the area and your owner is selling.
**EDIT she's been identified this morning through a local crime watch page someone posted the incident to on another platform. Thank you to the people who helped with a name. I was able to look her up and it's 100% her without a doubt. She has a history of criminal offences including serving jail time for serious physical assault. Needless to say, the temporary camera has just become permanent until we move. Her name and photo have been supplied to police and it's now an open investigation.
