Here's everything wrong with IT industry

1.Thousands of colleges and universities offer IT-related degrees.
2.There are countless certification vendors and organizations offering IT certifications.
3.Thousands of mentors, trainers, and bootcamps are preparing people for IT careers.
4.companies are investing heavily in automation and AI to reduce the amount of manual work required.
5.Many people from other industries are also transitioning into IT because it has traditionally offered good pay and career growth.
6.Governments can’t create IT jobs fast enough to match the growing number of people entering the field.
And its going to get worse..

Why is Nigeria not reciprocating SA official aggressive attitude towards Nigeria?

I'm not sure what's the federal govt's stand towards this attitude. Calling a nation of over 200 million people drug dens (without exception) in an international news conference should provoke a reaction from the Nigerian govt. Where is our pride as a nation? We have produced some of the world best in any field whether in Science,Finance,Literature,Music etc for someone to reduce us to a drug den. Why do we constantly get humiliated by the govt officials of SA? This is not a diplomatic language.South Africa is no longer a struggling nation and no longer need our helps. We should re-assess our relationship with South Africa. This is so disrespectful.

Bmet:I need help pls

Hi everyone,

I previously worked in IT as a Systems / hardware Administrator and I’ve been trying to transition my career into BMET for over a year, but I haven’t had much success breaking into the field.
I’m looking for any advice, guidance, resources, or suggestions from people who have made this transition or are currently working in BMET. Any tips on certifications, opportunities, networking, or how to get my foot in the door would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any help or advice!

The Last Login: summary of my life.

It is done.
The screen has gone dark,
the cursor has stopped blinking,
and the chapter I spent years writing
is closing without asking me if I was ready.
It is over.
But I cannot just pick up my things
and walk away like nothing happened.
Because I left pieces of myself there.
I left nights when the world was sleeping
and I was watching maintenance windows.
I left weekends that belonged to my family
but belonged to an on-call phone instead.
I left hours nobody paid for,
sacrifices nobody counted,
and effort nobody saw.
Sometimes I wonder…
Was this how the miners felt
when they realized the mountain they gave their lives to
would never give back what it promised?
Did someone stand at the entrance of that mine
selling dreams in a shiny brochure?
“Take this course.
Learn this skill.
Six figures are waiting for you.”
Did they also believe
that one more sacrifice
would finally be the one that changed everything?
Because that is the story of I.T.
The only road where you walk five rounds of interviews
just to prove you deserve a chair.
The only road where you collect certifications like survival gear,
renew fifteen every three years,
chase another badge every year,
hoping the next one will finally make you untouchable.
Then you open LinkedIn…
And every day there is another celebration.
Another post.
Another person holding up a new certification badge,
another “excited to announce” message,
another reminder that the race never ends.
And somewhere behind every badge
is another $500 exam fee,
another weekend of studying,
another sacrifice made in the hope
that this one will finally open the door.
And after all that…
you are lucky if the same company still needs you four years later.
A career where the salary ladder feels like it is built backward.
First came the budget cuts.
Then came the extra responsibilities.
Then came contract work.
Then came outsourcing.
Then came managed service providers.
Then came offshoring.
A race where your opponent is not just the person next to you…
but someone thousands of miles away
willing to accept a fraction of the price.
A race where even immigration policy cannot stop the bleeding.
Because if the worker does not come here…
the job goes there.
And the cruelest part?
You can collect degrees.
You can collect certifications.
You can spend years sharpening your craft.
And still wake up one morning
searching for a job
with no promise of when the search ends.
I knew maybe it was time to leave.
I knew maybe the road had changed.
But I wanted to believe.
I wanted to give it one more chance.
One more attempt.
One more investment.
Then I met the “veteran.”
The person who once walked the same road
but now stood on the sidelines
selling maps to a destination
they promised everyone could reach.
“Six figures in cybersecurity.”
“Offers from Fortune 100 companies.”
“Your life can change if you just buy this course.”
And somewhere between hope and desperation,
I forgot to ask the question:
If the road is so easy…
why are they selling the map
instead of walking it?
I did not realize what happened
until another $5,000 was gone.
Another piece of time.
Another piece of hope.
Another reminder that sometimes
the person selling the dream
is the only one getting rich from it.
So here I am.
Standing at the end of a road
I spent so many years building.
Bitter?
Maybe.
Because I gave it everything.
My time.
My energy.
My money.
My belief.
But maybe leaving does not mean I lost.
Maybe it means I finally listened
to the part of me
that was tired of proving my worth
to a machine that never stopped asking.
The certifications were real.
The skills were real.
The sacrifices were real.
But now…
maybe it is time
to build something where my future
is not decided by another budget meeting.
Maybe it is time
to close this terminal window,
save the lessons,
and start a new system.

Amazon cancelled my DC interview

Hi everyone,
After my previous post (link inserted),few days ago,I applied for a position at Amazon after seeing an opening that matched my background. I completed the initial behavioral questions, and they decided to move forward with my application.
However, on the day of the interview, I received an email saying the position was no longer available. What’s confusing is that I can still see the same job posting active on their website.
Has anyone experienced something similar with Amazon? Is this a normal part of their hiring process, or could there be another reason for it?
If anyone here works or has worked at Amazon, I’d really appreciate any insight. At this point, I’m not sure there’s much else I can do, but I wanted to hear from others who may have gone through the same thing.
Thanks.

Consistently for the last 3 years,i have always applied to positions in amazon data center.I go through their application and initial behavioral test and not for once i have ever got scheduled for an interview. Infact its so much worse now that i got automatic rejection once i finished going through the application process. I once received a mail from their recruiter asking me to fill out a form for salary expectation which i did, and that was it. I was ghosted again. Is this common with Amazon?
