Whats your favorite popcorn?

My favorite popcorn has always been Topsy's, which is something grew up with in my teens, and I woke up and OMG I just really really wanted some.

They had the best cinnamon popcorn ever.

Cake cake cake!

For his birthday (which is tomorrow but celebrating today), I made red velvet cake yesterday. I normally make it with a traditional roux but he wanted cream cheese so...of course, why not!

Chili dogs

I made chili yesterday and decided hmmm....what to make with the rest....chili dogs!

I took a chance on the Publix Store brand (they're a lot like Hebrew National which I like. These are mine, which I keep them basic; A bit of cheese and onion to top. Also publix buns because you don't have to buy like 50 of them.

These are so good. I haven't had a chili dog in a while, and I ate only 1.5 so...definitely my eyes were too big for my tummy.

They were excellent through. My husband usually wants his with sauerkraut. I didn't have any so he subbed kimchi which according to him, was good but not the same. (duh...lol)

Cleo chocolate covered yogurt bars (how is that actually healthy???)

My husband came back from Publix last night with these clio bars. The good; they were BOGO (their not cheap) the bad, they're selling these little guys as healthy(ish) which OK maybe? But these are pretty tiny. who's gonna eat just one?

So, the Salted Caramel has an interesting smell, which smells more like strawberry than caramel and actually has a hint of strawberry when you bite down. I had one, he had 5...lol

The vanilla ones are in the freezer. He wants to test them out as "frozen yogurt", which we will be doing sometime today.

Edit: Tried the vanilla, which is way better tasting.

Its a fun little piece about Chanel Perfumes and also short interview with their in house perfumer.

From the article:

>In 1921, when Coco Chanel wanted to create a signature scent for her fashion house, she went to this town in the south of France, where fields once bloomed in abundance, but have faded over the decades.

>Now, a revival is underway, and that's where our story begins tonight, in Grasse, where flowers for the world's most famous perfume have been grown and gathered for more than 100 years.

>This is the Rose Centifolia – nicknamed the May Rose – because it blooms in spring.

>Cultivated in row after pink row, it is a flower worthy of a serenade. Piano notes play over speakers – farmers say the vibrations help the buds bloom evenly.

>Twelve of these roses go into a bottle of Chanel No. 5. But the real star is this tiny, white flower: jasmine. It opens at night and is harvested as the sun comes up. One thousand jasmine flowers go into a bottle of No. 5, giving it the floral scent that has sat on grandmothers' dressers for generations.

I put this up here for the discussion of, AI in the use in perfumery, not in the use of writing reviews on Reddit (there's a distinction!!)

Also I want to give the author Jessica Buchanan, proper credit for their writing. Yes its an opinion but its an opinion from a perfumer who I think gives a balanced view with proper citations.

This is a huge article, so please take time going through it, but I wanted to bring up somethings that jumped out at me as this article brings in the question of ethics using AI in perfumery and what really constitutes a perfumer; (from the article)

>The International Society of Perfumer-Creators (ISPC) has published a Perfumer-Creator’s Charter that explicitly defines what the title means, how it is earned, and the professional obligations attached to it.[12] The Charter frames a Perfumer-Creator as a perfumer who, drawing on individual inspiration and original ideas, imagines, conceives, and composes perfumes - requiring mastery of a broad palette of ingredients, the ability to formulate “from a blank page,” and rigorous regulatory competence.[12] It also frames perfumery as a work of the mind, and insists that the creator’s name should remain inseparably linked to the perfume - an authorship principle that sits uneasily beside opaque, AI-driven generation.[12]

And even more interesting:

>Notably, the Academy of Perfumery’s own nomenclature page states that “an Artificial Intelligence (AI) operator is not a perfumer.”[10]

Still, it can't be dismissed by how pervasive the use is as there are several big companies that use it (we're hoping responsibly!) for example

Givaudan - https://www.givaudan.com/fragrance-beauty/perfumery-school/carto-the-future-of-fragrance-formulations

Symrise - https://www.symrise.com/scent-and-care/competence-platforms/philyra/

IFF - https://www.iff.com/media/news/iff-adds-real-time-consumer-feedback-into-fragrance-creation-with-introduction-of-ai-powered-scentchat-app/

And of course

Osmo - https://www.osmo.ai/blog/osmo-launches-generation-worlds-first-ai-powered-fragrance-house

More from the article:

>AI is here to stay, and when used responsibly, it can be a valuable ally to perfumers. But we must set boundaries. Technology should enhance our practice, not replace it. Osmo and similar platforms must be held accountable for how they train their models and how they credit the creative work they draw upon.

As always when discussing, your comments should be within the rules of this sub. Your moderation team thanks you.

I recently adopted r/junkfood (I know right?) and you know what? its completely dead over there. I'm in the process of cleaning it up, adding rules, flairs, etc and hopefully making it more habitable.

I've worked with different subs who had mod teams in place, but this is a bit different, the moderator who is there is totally inactive, hasn't been active over a year. The back end stuff I'm good with, I'm working that through now

But the question is really for those who have been through the adoption process;

Who did you start with when the sub was like dead/dead? Its getting some traffic but how to revive? I'm trying to put together a game plan of sorts.

Also I do want to work and trade links/work with with other subs that are SWF so if anyone wants to do that let me know, I'm totally up for it.
