Oct 24 vs. Oct 31 weekend for peak fall colors in the Smokies?

Hi all! I’m planning my first trip to the Smokies. We’ll be driving from Raleigh, with our first stop being Asheville, and then spending 2 days in Gatlinburg for the Great Smoky Mountains.

Would you recommend the Oct 24th weekend or Oct 31st weekend? Which one do you think would be a better option for peak fall colors, ideally with a lower chance of bad weather?

We’ll mainly be doing scenic drives, overlooks, and town hopping rather than long hikes. Would love to hear what you’d recommend!

Are these claw prongs typical for a 1.54 ct oval solitaire?

Hi everyone! I recently got engaged and would love some opinions on my ring setting.

It's a 1.54 ct lab-grown oval in a 4-prong gallery rail setting with a 14k yellow gold band and white gold head.

I love the delicate claw prongs, but I'm wondering if the amount of prong coverage over the diamond looks typical for this style. Do the prongs appear to cover enough of the stone for a secure everyday setting, or do they look unusually minimal?

Also, as a secondary question, do you think 4 prongs are sufficient, or would 6 prongs be safer? I like the look of 4 prongs for oval, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts if you own a similar shape.

I'd really appreciate any opinions from those who own oval solitaires or work in jewelry.

Thanks!
