Limerence: not so romantic after all?

Limerence: not so romantic after all?

Came across this article and gasped: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/09/well/mind/love-attraction-limerence.html?unlocked_article_code=1.zFA.5Q1_.QCQtJ8r34kqQ&smid=nytcore-ios-share

In that radio interview Luke made this word sound so romantic that I - as a fan - ahem did not do the diligence of double checking the meaning of this word. Now I just feel a bit dumb for not having done a quick google? ugh his stupid hair and stupid smile has made me stupid…

Tv/film/book recommendations during season lull

Hello my fellow Benophies!

I recently decided to leave a Benophie discord for personal reasons, and I’m now looking for recommendations for good TV/books/movies to help me pass time and fill this Benophie-shaped hole as I have health issues that require me to be rather sedentary.

The World Cup has been a great distraction, and after that I have Widow’s Bay on my next to-watch list. I’m also slowly making my way through Off Campus, although it hasn’t hit the spot as much as s4 did, of course. And I’ve already seen Heated Rivalry and the Other Bennett Sister. Am still reserving my judgment on this season’s House of the Dragon. anything else that might be interesting?

As for film I am usually such a cinephile, but the current slate of cinema is a bit sad. I have still yet to watch Hamnet (though have read the book). It is faintly Luke adjacent I suppose, due to his love for Shakespeare. how have people found the film? I also enjoy Josh O’Connor, Paul Mescal, and independent cinema. and recommendation is appreciated!

I am a lover of Benophie fan fics of course, and am benefiting from the Friday fanfic recs tremendously. In terms of books I am reading this Danish novel “On the Calculation of Volume”. if anyone knows about it and has similar recommendations I am curious too.

Given that the new season isn’t slated for another year, I am just curious to see what other Benophies are doing during the lull. I am seeing Luke in London for The Lives of Others in October and I cannot wait.

Thanks for any feedback in advance!
