  • Title: Did I make the right choice?
  • Caption: I designed 6 cowboy penguins to make sure the design I came up with was as good as I could make it, the tattoo is the end result of picking the best parts of each, did I go with the right design?

60 hours over the course of 4 months. This is also a coverup. Initial thought concept/stencil and finished product photos included.

The worst part of the whole thing was probably the thick liner. I’m not sure if I was just mentally wiped out, hungry, or unprepared.. but that was definitely the most difficult session. Cheek work and shading was pretty great. Aside from the liner, I’d say the most painful area was the tramp stamp area.

We have future plans to continue the work down my legs and, possibly, more glute coverage.

Overall, I’m so beyond happy. This tattoo has renewed my confidence and… for personal reasons… has made me feel more in control of my body.

Any “differences” you’re seeing in the face is a result of a torn trap on my left side. You’re seeing swelling and a “locked” shoulder. Other progress posts within this sub show the face in its correct position - and me uninjured.

  • Title: My dog’s last day is Friday and I want to bring him along
  • Caption: Honestly I really just wanted to show my tribute to my dog, Hank. His last day with us is Friday due to fluid in his chest compressing his lungs and heart. I had the vet give me a stamp of his paw and so far I’m happy with how it came out.

My client had a serious accident when she was 10 months old. During a brief moment of her parents’ inattention, she climbed onto a gas stove and spilled boiling water on herself. She suffered severe burns and barely survived.

All of this happened over 45 years ago, when plastic surgery in Poland was still in its early stages of development. Various healing methods and skin graft techniques were tested on her. For years, she struggled with the shame that accompanied having such extensive scarring.

She came to me two years ago, asking if I would be willing to cover those scars. I had worked with scars before, but never to this extent. I decided to give it a try, and since then we’ve met several times.

Last year, she sent me a photo from her vacation where, for the first time in her life, she uncovered her body in front of other people. Moments like these build me as a tattoo artist and reinforce my belief that tattooing is something more than just a pretty picture.
