Last Podcast on the Left recently mentioned Mallworld being a thing on TikTok. I immediately found this sub and had a feeling I’d find my dream locations here.
Last fall my husband and I took a tour of the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. It’s most famous for being the hotel that inspired Stephen King to write “The Shining.” He literally came up with the whole story while he and his wife were staying there.
Anyway, when the tour came to the ballroom in these photos, I told my husband, “I’ve dreamed about this place before!” I had never been in this room before but I knew it instantly and have dreamed about it lots of times.
I have been having dreams containing images like the ones on this sub for YEARS, but when I would mention them to other people they don’t seem to have the same ones.
In these dreams, I’m usually alone in the hotel/amusement park/mall/store/courtyard or sometimes with just one other person I know in real life. There are usually crowds of other people there but I don’t know them. The dreams are never nightmares; they are either neutral or happy. There’s a vague sense of nothing too exciting really happening. I have a feeling like I’m visiting just to check the place out or explore.
