hiya! 28F bassist and vocalist, based in the east village. i’ve been in a local “drama punk” band for the last two years and had an absolute blast, but we’re shifting away from live shows so i’m looking for a new musical venture!!

some more things about me:
- favorite musicians are sleigh bells, fall out boy, the beatles, the wombats, two door cinema club, viagra boys, bring me the horizon (their newer “softer” stuff), stand atlantic, glass animals, alt-J, night riots, muse, weezer, the jonas brothers, 1d, 3oh!3, assorted kpop. my favorite song of all time is sledgehammer by peter gabriel. i love fun, catchy, noisy soundscapes with a very solid melodic core.
- grew up playing piano and cello, studying music theory, singing (alto) in choir and musicals
- i can and do write songs, but my true passions atm are playing bass and singing harmonies! love learning covers, also happy to contribute ideas to original music
- played multiple shows around nyc, excited about gigging and experienced in getting bookings
- could commit to 2-3x monthly rehearsals or jams, maybe more depending on where/when
- dream collaborators would be 22-35, punctual and energetic, into the same kinds of music as me, ppl who care about doing a really good job and having lots of fun while we’re at it :)

hi all - had a confirmed bb march 16, got the treatments right away, unpacked by april 1. i only saw one live one, never had any issues with bites, and the inspector/exterminator agreed with me that i had probably just picked up a hitchhiker somewhere because he saw absolutely zero signs of active infestation. i encased the mattress and generally keep a very tidy home.

however, now i have seen/squashed a couple more live adults. including on my actual bed 😭😭 (for context, it’s a lofted bed right under the ceiling, which has lots of gaps and beams and plaster cracks in it because the building is from 1900.) but still having no issues with biting, neither on me nor my partner, and can’t find ANY signs of infestation on mattress, couch, etc. i do live in a pre-war building with so many nooks and crannies, and i have long suspected my next-door neighbors live in pretty gross hoarder-esque conditions. and it’s really weird to me that i keep seeing live adults crawling around when they’re supposed to be super sneaky and secretive!!!!

so what do y’all think? i did buy DE and am getting it everywhere i can, but i am unfortunately mentally preparing for having to do the treatments again if i must. but is there something else i can/should do, any way to confirm if they’re getting in from another unit? do i tell my landlord and ask if they’ve inspected the neighbors? thanks in advance 🥲🥲
