Lofi & Experimental Acts
Greetings 🖖🏾
My name is ron, Im in search of producers, engineers and musicians who are interested in collaborating and doing live shows that are diy through my company. These are paid gigs.
I’ve been a musician since 2013 with a rather low-key project up until now where I curate creative & immersive shows that are rsvp only & include art installations, food & drinks.
Preferably hoping to find talent whom are ready to record, practice, and do live shows.
My project(s) genre’s ranges in between; Lofi, chill wave, r&b-ish, punk-popish, electronica, with some hip-hop, 808s, deepwave, trap…. Hence experimental.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, I’d love to connect!
summer jams
Looking for musicians who are interested in punk/garage/surf/rock to jam with this summer. I play guitar, bass, and drums. Most interested in the latter 2, most skilled on bass. Beginner but eager on drums.
Prefer connecting with folks ages 30+, cool, not flakey. Practice in Brooklyn.
Feel free to comment or shoot me a DM.
pop singer looking for band members for 7/30
hey everyone! as the title suggests, i’m looking for some musicians to play a gig with me on 7/30, with 4-5 potential practices. im very pop based, think olivia rodrigo meets chappell roan meets stevie nicks. the gig isnt paid right away, but if i sell over a specific amount of tickets there will be money distributed between the band members!! currently need drums, keys, and bass. please DM me if interested and we can discuss more.
pop-rock bassist ISO band
hiya! 28F bassist and vocalist, based in the east village. i’ve been in a local “drama punk” band for the last two years and had an absolute blast, but we’re shifting away from live shows so i’m looking for a new musical venture!!
some more things about me:
- favorite musicians are sleigh bells, fall out boy, the beatles, the wombats, two door cinema club, viagra boys, bring me the horizon (their newer “softer” stuff), stand atlantic, glass animals, alt-J, night riots, muse, weezer, the jonas brothers, 1d, 3oh!3, assorted kpop. my favorite song of all time is sledgehammer by peter gabriel. i love fun, catchy, noisy soundscapes with a very solid melodic core.
- grew up playing piano and cello, studying music theory, singing (alto) in choir and musicals
- i can and do write songs, but my true passions atm are playing bass and singing harmonies! love learning covers, also happy to contribute ideas to original music
- played multiple shows around nyc, excited about gigging and experienced in getting bookings
- could commit to 2-3x monthly rehearsals or jams, maybe more depending on where/when
- dream collaborators would be 22-35, punctual and energetic, into the same kinds of music as me, ppl who care about doing a really good job and having lots of fun while we’re at it :)
so if you have a band that sounds up my alley and you’re looking for a bassist, or if you have been wanting to form a new band and think we’d vibe, hit me up and let’s rock out!!!🤘❤️🔥
Bassist looking to start a Shoegaze / melodic hardcore band in Brooklyn / Manhattan
Into bands like Citizen, Fiddlehead, Angel Du$t, Militarie Gun, Anxious, Polar Bear Club, Microwave, Balance and Composure? I'm a bassist (male) (28-40, you should be too) looking to start a fresh project with people who get it.
Looking for: guitar, vocals, drums — bonus points if you write too. I've got 3 songs fully written and ready to send demos, but I'm hoping to find people who want to actually collaborate and build something together, not just fill a slot.
Logistics:
- Can practice in North Brooklyn / Queens / Manhattan
- Bring your own gear for shows — the spaces I rehearse at have backline, so no need to haul amps to practice
- Originals only, no covers
Vibe check:
- No egos, period
- Would love if we could actually hang outside of music, not just be a working band
- I'm active in the scene and hoping you are too. Know how it operates, know the bands, know the etiquette
- I'm sober these days — doesn't bother me if you drink, just don't let it become a thing
Goals: No touring (day job keeps me local), but definitely down for weekenders and NYC shows once we've got a tight 20-minute set. I've got connections to help get us booked.
If this sounds like your scene, hit me up with what you play, your influences, and maybe a clip of something you've written or played on.
What are the best open mics for singer-songwriters in Manhattan?
I am still trying to create my own music, so I would welcome any suggestions where I could sing covers! I am 19 years old and female, for any context if it helps.
Thank you!
wanna jam?
25m here who recently moved to the city!
had a band in college where i was the vocalist, we sang pop/soul/rnb/jazz covers like olivia dean, raye, sam smith, laufey, emma nissen, stevie wonder. also big fan of bands like lake street dive, the couch, postmodern jukebox. love taking a classic piece and then adding a twist to it, from swing beats to harmonies.
i miss the joy of jamming w friends so am looking for strings/drums/keys/additional vocalists/etc. who wanna have some fun! hmu if you’re down :)
How do local gigging musicians feel about the Protect Working Musicians Act? (Grassroots push)
Hey everyone,
I’m working with a grassroots effort to help gather support for the Protect Working Musicians Act.
If you haven't heard of it, the Act is aimed at giving independent and gigging music creators the legal leverage to negotiate fairer streaming royalty splits, get stronger protections against generative AI misuse, and establish better collective bargaining power. Essentially, it's trying to tackle how hard it's become to make a living off music.
We are trying to collect signatures from real, willing US citizens to show widespread support, and a huge chunk of the momentum is already coming from right here in New York.
If you're an independent artist, a session musician, or part of the scene here and want to see better economic protections for music laborers, please consider checking out the petition and adding your name:
Petition Link:https://www.openpetition.org/us/petition/statistik/support-the-protect-working-musicians-act#petition-main
Also, curious to hear your thoughts—how do you all feel about current streaming payouts or the general state of gig pay in the city right now?
Appreciate your time!

Looking for a busking partner
Hi, my name is Christine and I'm a singer/guitarist/pianist, looking for a busking partner. I've busked alone a few times before but it is sooo much better when you're with someone.
I like doing tender/lullabye-ish covers and gravitate towards music that feel romantic, nostalgic and a little sad.
Here's some examples:

I also have a deep affinity for old school Chinese and Japanese music (80's). If this sounds like it resonates send me a dm <3

Third Eye Blind cover band
I’m a bassist looking to start a 3eb cover band. Or at least, a cover band with 3eb at its core.
I know many of Salazar’s bass lines by heart and I do my best to be true to his tone and articulation where possible. I wouldn’t consider myself a super fan of 3eb but I would love to play their first album start to finish as a setlist. A goal of gigging around NYC.
What I’m looking for:
- every other instrument and a singer that does a decent Jenkins
- willingness to let the songs open and breathe a bit. Adding extended solos, intros, etc., but still sound accurate to the original recordings regarding tone and effects.
- practice once a week or every other week. Either within Manhattan or ~30 min from Manhattan by subway.
- wants to jam on non 3eb stuff too
Thanks!
Looking for a musician
I'm looking for an acoustic guitarist for 30 mins to play a few songs in central park on a Monday morning in early July. Any recommendations for musicians to reach out to?
jam trio looking for keys and 2nd guitarist (w/ vocals)
hey all,
we are a pretty fresh trio of guitar/bass/drums all ~30s M who want to add keys (primarily) and possibly another guitarist. at least one of them is ideally also a vocalist
We meet mid-week around 6p in midtown at studios like Funkadelic or Musicmakers!
So far it's a combination of covers, improv/jamming and fleshing out original ideas. Jam rock, funk, jazz, classic rock, post-punk, etc.
Inspirations: King Gizzard, Allman Bros, Phish, Cream, shame, Slowdive, the Fearless Flyers, Wilco, Herbie Hancock, Mac DeMarco, Jimi, QotSA, old surf music, jazz and funk classics..we all listen to all sorts of stuff. For me the important thing is that the material is actually fun to play and not just good to listen to.
Here are a couple clips of us messing around earlier this month (this one started as the River):

Female singer wanted for Dream Pop Shoegaze
Hi all! Male multi-instrumentalist here looking for soft female vocals. I’m heavily influenced by Beach House, The Sundays, Men I Trust, Lush, Cocteau Twins, Curve, A Sunny Day In Glasgow, Sound of Ceres, Furns, She’s Green, Sea Oleena, Grouper, Alvvays, and many many more
The demos I have so far are acoustic with a few effects laden ideas. I really want to build this from the ground up with a songwriting partner. I do write some lyrics but I cannot sing fyi
Anyway, thanks for reading and hope to hear from you!
Looking for Metalcore Vocalists in the Area to Practice With
Hi all! I’m (30F) a beginner singer working on metalcore vocals in Williamsburg and looking for others who might want to practice together, share tips, or just help keep each other motivated :) It’d be great to connect with other metalcore musicians and vocalists nearby!
Also, if there’s a more specific subreddit that’s better for this kind of post, please let me know! Thank you! 🤘🖤
Finding an amateur mucisian
Hi guys,
I am looking for advice. My boss wants to hire some black jazz musicians for their party. They specifically want the players to be brass musicians and is flexible with the budget (they have never hired musicians before). Does anyone know what avenues I can use to find some younger jazz players? I don’t listen to jazz and my friends are all in the EDM and DJ scene. So I’m out of my element. I posted this under the wrong account and am reposting here!
PS: Adding a picture of toy turtles I found outside cuz they’re awesome.
