Rooster Trouble, GJ address but outside city limits.
Please help, there is a rooster crowing constantly on average of every 15 seconds with small breaks at some points during the day.
From as early as 2am, to as late as 10pm....
We have contacted local law enforcement and they told us call the sheriff as it is *just out of city limits and not in their jurisdiction.
We called the sheriff and they said it is a code compliance issue and to contact code enforcement. They said they will send someone within 10 days and then issue a compliance order of 30 days to comply....
Is this really are only wat to handle this!?
Being woken up with 2 young kids at 2am every day is driving us insane....
The owners of the home just keep lying about the situation and doing nothing. They have started yo just ignore us....
Anyone have any LEGAL ideas or suggestions?
Edit: *just out
Update: Code enforcement followed up and called and then came by. The guy that showed up was shocked about how much noise this rooster was making. He emailed me a report on the issue and confirmed it was illegal to keep a rooster in a Subdivision in Mesa County on less than an acre of land.
He also made a special note in the report that it was excessively crowing on average of once ever 15 seconds for over 45 minutes while the office was at the location around 10-11am
The occupants have been told to remove the rooster from the property and a follow up visit will occur.... so we will see.
