My take on these a few months in...
Early on I was enjoying these Meta RayBan 2's but lately I've become a little perturbed by them. First of all, I use them for just taking pictures and maybe videos of things I see. I don't use them for posting anything on Facebook or Instagram and don't even have them linked up. Those vehicles have come and gone for me. Audio for reading my incoming texts, and announcing who's calling I like. Audio for podcast and music is a solid "B-". I wish it would go a little louder.
Lately though, there's been some bug where the damn thing (in this case Akawfina) just announces the battery level constantly - like every 30 seconds. And to top that off, the battery level is seriously dropping, almost a percent each time she chimes in. I just power the damn glasses off and scour the sites like Reddit for answers. Restart, Factory reset, Unpair - really haven't changed anything. Some days it will do nothing and be normal. I've also read that the glasses will announce a battery level every time I stand up? Honestly nothing every like this happened for the few two months that I owned these.
Another completely bizarre issue is that I may be allergic to the nickel in the arm bands, which cause some bumpy rash behind my ears. It could also be the weight or the plastic - but it really is a thing apparently. I did order some covers from Amazon that may take care of this; haven't received them yet.
I bought these through EyeBuyDirect - sunglasses with a prescription with a cozy $400+ investment. They don't seem to want to hear my story and pointed me to RayBan directly. My two issues seem to be a RayBan problem and a Meta problem combined.
And the Meta AI feature? very lame compared to what out there with Claude and Chat GPT.
