With the application process looking like it’s getting easier do we think the acceptance rate will increase? Or are they just trying to simplify the process?

I was planning to apply for 26OTS03 got my package together somewhere along the line the dates from the group to my unit were never passed along even after pestering my leadership about it. Anyway my package for 27OTS01 is basically done but my personal LOR was signed by my group commander who was deployed at the time he signed it. He will be back soon and retake the group commander position my question is should I have him resign it or just stick with the current letter? Since my package will be routed to the group and then the wing would it look strange to have his signature in two different positions?
