Delonghi Dedica Duo - Major lot issue

As i have mentioned in the video, delonghi's duo machine or even the 685 model is having issue where it is leaking current on the side body.

This is because delonghi does not come with 3 pin plug, so current does not go to earthing as it should normally do.

Please check your products and immediately reach out to delonghi support to seek resolution.

This should be easily solved through an male-male adapter of some sort which has earthing pin on both ends.

Humble setup

After a one month extensive research, I finally got the equipments for my coffee journey.

I "pulled a shot" today and made atleast 5 big mistakes and a few small ones...though the coffee was 5/10. (I expected worse)

I feel bad experimenting with a bit costly coffee, but i believe I'll learn.

I would like to thank all those who helped me guide in my earlier posts and those who indirectly helped me with their existing posts and comments!

For those who are also Looking for such setup -

  1. Delonghi Duo - Amazon sale (19k/-)

  2. Baratza encore ESP - Amazon sale (21k/-)

  3. Portafilter, WDT, spray, scale, beans, etc - Amazon sale (5k approx)

Total - 45k approx.

Need guidance on grinding for espresso

I'm going to buy delonghi ec 890 (duo) for home use.

Option 1 - Should i buy a good 6k-7k manual grinder and use the pressurised prtafilter that I'll get with the machine?

OR

Option 2- Should i invest in a decent geinder like baratza encore esp and then use a bottomless portafilter with other accessories?

Factors putting me in this dilemma are -

  1. Option 1 will cost less..around 25-26k while Option 2 will require about 45k investment.

  2. The espresso quality as per general census in pressurised protafilter is very bad compared to non pressurized one.

So, does the price difference in both options justify the quality improvement?

I would appreciate a response from someone who has tried both!

Rationally, i think i can start with the pressurised one and if i really dislike it, i can invest in baratza and other accessories later. But i just want to save that time and disappointment to be honest.

Thanks!

Basic setup for Home

Hi,

I'm not an avid coffee drinker. But i do know the difference between instant coffee and espresso!

I've been wanting to make coffee at home from pre-roasted beans. And i want to keep my setup economic as i know this is a rabbit hole which won't be enough even if i spent 1 Lakh.

So, I've finalised on Timemore CS3 grinder + Vantro X1 as i saw a lot of people using it and satisfied with it.

I want to know what other accessories I'll need with it? For ex - weighing scale, bottomless porta filter, etc

If anyone can guide me a bit on this, would really appreciate it. Thanks!
