I personally think Ding Tao and Li Xiong would play Roblox together, Qiao Tianya Clash Royal and Yao Wenyu Sudoku.

I was really looking forward to this chapter, because it was my favourite side couple in the novel and I really wanted to read more about them. But after I finished it, I just felt empty.

In my culture we have a lot of literature that portrays non-con and unfortunately I’m well acquainted with this trope. However it still made me feel uneasy.

I was even more upset when the chapter ended. Which means we won’t know what happened after, what either of them said and how they felt. To me it’s even worse, because no matter how much I don’t want to view it as SA, because I really enjoyed Qiao Tianya’s character, I can’t call it anything else.

I really hope that I’ll see more of their relationship development further, but my hopes aren’t that high.

Also!! I have a quick question about the plot for those who know. The chapter just before this one, “Connecting the dots”, was so confusing to me that I still don’t get how Xi Hongxuan or Wei Huaigu might be related to Huo Lingyun. I mean, it was made clear that the whole thing was about bribing Huo Qing, but I don’t understand why these two? What do they have to do with it? I didn’t really view them as very ambitious, clever and good at plotting long term schemes. Anyways, the dots didn’t connect for me.

Imo within the Danmei community this novel is widely recognisable, I’ve seen many people talk about how much they love QJJ. But I haven’t encountered many artists (I follow every one that I found on twitter and, roughly speaking, half of them are official artists for different editions) and have never seen a single cosplay video. I even went on TikTok, but there were only 4 videos.
