Cezhou romance in QJJ from volume 1-3 and how it starts
I’ve seeing some people confused and question when the romance begins. For that I have to preface that the enemies to lovers cause. The reason Xiao Chiye and Shen Zechuan are opposed to one another is due to the massacre of Zhongbo and that is used as a trap to detain XCY in Qudu and he develops frustration and resentment towards SZC. And as we see it does mellow out and the reason is simple. Their enmity was never built on a personal level and more so on external factors. So due to that the barriers to overcome to liking one another wasn’t as hard.
Now we see XCY definitely be interested but SZC not first but later after their first intimate session, And also due to how SZC was very similar to XCY as trapped in Qudu they developed a closeness and a sense of companionship. Being in an arduous situation, it’s very easy to develop feelings. But XCY and SZC and SZC’s first time as I saw when they began to be mutually interested in one another is due to the overflow of Donglong street. After experiencing that event together with the recent events it clicked for them. And the reason at first SZC associated with XCY was to find a way to extricate himself from the Empress dowager and her faction.
