Perfect Dark Zero: Reworked | A little preview of what I've been working on
Hi everyone,
I've been working on a bunch of gameplay and QoL improvements for the Perfect Dark Zero recomp, and I figured I'd share a little preview of how it's coming along.
My main focus has been on modernizing the movement and making the game feel a lot more responsive and closer to what I'd always hoped PDZ would play like. That includes faster, more fluid movement, a much more useful dodge mechanic with its own cooldown system, full mouse look, modern controller support, and motion controls.
This footage was actually recorded using a Steam Controller with gyro aiming.
All gameplay changes are optional and configurable, so you can stick with the original experience or pick and choose which features you'd like to modernize. Things like weapon sway and aim assist can be enabled or disabled independently, depending on your preferences.
Also, full disclosure: this is an AI coded project. I'm not responsible for the recomp itself, just the gameplay and QoL modifications I'm building on top of it. I've been putting a lot of time and effort into making sure the changes are implemented as cleanly and efficiently as possible, rather than just throwing prompts at an AI and hoping for the best.
I'm currently finalizing the first build and hoping to share more soon. There's quite a bit more going on under the hood, but I wanted to give people a little taste of what I've been working on.
It's still very much a work in progress, but I'm pretty happy with how it's starting to feel.
