Rule to create transactions when rule criteria met? Would you use it?

(I don't think this exists in AB, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

I've started to rely heavily on the rules feature. Thanks to this sub, I now understand how powerful the functionality is. I came from YNAB, didn't understand rules for a long time so ignored the functionality for the first year.

I'm wanting rules that sometimes CREATE transactions (in an account of your choice) when the rule is triggered. Instead of only rules that edit transactions.

I have a few instances where this would be handy.

For example, when certain income comes in, I create other transactions in "allowance" accounts for my partner and I.

Another example: when certain income comes in, specific bills are automatically paid.

Another example: I try and match purchases and refund transactions together to keep track of things that need to be returned (think Amazon returns). If I purchase an item, receive it and decide to return it, I want to label the purchase as "to refund" which would automatically create a future transaction for the refund. This gives me a list of credits I know are coming.

But maybe these are just "me" jobs. Wondering if other people would use this functionality?

I'm obsessed with this snack.

I've never loved yogurt, especially low-fat yogurt. But add whipped cream cheese and suddenly it's delicious. 🙌

Dannon Light & Fit yogurts have amazing flavor but they're too sweet on their own. So I cut them with plain yogurt and cream cheese, then toss in some fruit. Cereal on top gives it crunch and makes the whole thing feel like a dessert with a crust.

  • Light & Fit yogurt (high protein)
  • Low-fat plain yogurt (high protein)
  • Whipped cream cheese
  • Fruit
  • Cereal

I try to hit 1g protein per 10 calories and this comes really close. Tastes like a treat, hits the macros. Win-win.

(I use Macrofactor for food tracking.)
