Numbers bloat

Just finished my first play through in over 10 years. One thing I had forgot that I really like about this game is that the numbers don’t bloat to the tens of thousands. In my run (not completionist or very optimized) I ended the game around level 45 and 2500-3500 hp-ish on each character.

Comparing that to the astronomical numbers so prevalent in the genre now a days they are very modest. And I love it. It makes every stat seem more important, and it feels better.

Players unfamiliar with jrpgs

Hello ultimates!

I recently got this game and I’m really want to try it out. I love the feel of the rulebook and how it reminds of the many game guides I’ve read.

However, my regular group consists of three people who’ve never played a jrpg in their entire lives. Has anyone else tried playing Fabula Ultima with a group like that? Any tips on how to get them into the vibe and system without making them play Chrono Trigger and FF9 first?
