i clean up around this park about once a week and i’m always shocked at how much litter accumulates!! i always think “oh it’s not that bad this week” and next thing you know i’ve filled up my entire bag 🥲

i’ve luckily seen a decrease in cigarette butts since i put in the ashtrays but it seems to have only worked in the more “public” bench areas. the ones that get less foot traffic always have an appalling heap of litter, including cig butts, despite the ashtray being right there! oh well. i’ll be back next week as always.

got sick and tired of picking up cigarette butts on walks at my local park so i crafted an “ashtray” of sorts to hang on the park benches. it’s just those disposable grill pans (with the lid) with a hole at the top and some cotton string. hoping this will make a small difference and that i can make a mini update on it at some point.

maybe this isn’t urbanism but its tactical environmentalism which, to me, are one in the same. hope you guys enjoy this!

hi i was walking in abdij van park and came across the sweetest little tuxedo cat. she has a light grey collar on but it has no information and i was wondering if anyone knew this cat. she is so cuddly and is following me around the park it is so hard to leave
