I took Omeprazole on and off for about 4 months, with periods of time where I was taking it twice a day. Now that a doctor has recommended me to get off, I have noticed that I have a tightness in my left side under the rib cage whenever I eat or drink, and this pain radiates to the back. It’s not super painful, just light gnawing/burning. Is this a common side effect or should I be more worried?
So recently I came down with the worst flair up of IBS I have ever had. I couldn’t eat or drink without getting gas pains. After a few weeks, the pain has largely subsided, but it’s left behind a strange symptom. Whenever I eat anything or even drink water, I get a tight feeling just behind my left rib cage that can wrap around to the front on occasion. It is not painful at all, just very noticeable and distracting. It can be accompanied by spasms, feel a bit like something is crawling under there/cramping. I was wondering if anybody had some insight. Thanks!
