So to be clear, I really love his music. There is a lot of it, and much of it is very beautiful. There is a huge range for people almost at the start of their journey, to the most accomplished. He is well represented on youtube, so I know people are playing his repertoire. However, I rarely see his music popping up on this sub. I really thought his music would be more popular. Is there something I'm missing about his music that doesn't make it great, or is stopping it from being more broadly recognised?

During sound check simply could not get anything better than a very muddy sound.

First song: Did the intro and then launched into singing a completely different song that has virtually the same intro. Said 'oops' too loudly into the mic and started again.

Second song: starts on the fifth fret usually. I started on the seventh. Got some very odd looks from the other musos. Went it alone, and when there was a suitable break, modalised down a tone (badly).

Anyway, went alright--way better than my worst performance. I'm not feeling too bad now. There was far more good music than bad.

To everyone who has screwed up live music: we all do at some point. Muddle through the song. Move onto the next.
