Warning About My Experience with NC Unlock and Maroof Unlocker
I want to share my experience to warn others and hopefully prevent them from going through the same situation.
I was trying to unlock the bootloader of my Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Through a Telegram group, I found what appeared to be a legitimate service called NC Unlock, so I contacted the owner.
Initially, everything seemed professional. I was told that my phone could be unlocked remotely using its IMEI numbers. I provided both IMEI numbers as requested. Shortly afterward, I was informed that they could not unlock my device because my IMEIs supposedly were not supported. To support this claim, I was shown a conversation with someone called Maroof Unlocker, who allegedly could perform a one-time bootloader unlock for approximately USD 195.
Believing this to be a legitimate solution, I paid the requested amount. After receiving the payment, the owner of NC Unlock completely disappeared and stopped responding to my messages.
Unexpectedly, I was then contacted directly by Maroof Unlocker on Telegram. He accused me of being associated with NC Unlock, claiming that I had scammed him over multiple devices. I immediately explained that I had never dealt with him before and that I was actually the customer who had already lost USD 195 to NC Unlock.
The following day, after discussing the situation, we reached what I believed was a reasonable agreement. Since I had already lost money, Maroof Unlocker agreed that I could pay USD 90 upfront and settle the remaining balance after the unlock was completed.
Unfortunately, after I sent the payment, the same pattern repeated itself. Communication became extremely slow and inconsistent. Although I was initially told that the server would complete the process within approximately 30 minutes, nothing happened. I spent the entire day trying to contact him without receiving any meaningful updates. Later, I was told he had been involved in an accident, but no progress was made.
Several days later, instead of completing the service, he stated that he no longer trusted me and said he would simply refund my payment and asked me to leave. As of today, I have not received any refund.
It is also worth mentioning that both payments were made in Bitcoin, as neither party accepted PayPal or any payment method offering buyer protection.
Finally, I have received messages from Maroof Unlocker threatening to place my IMEI numbers on a blacklist so that my device allegedly cannot be unlocked in the future. Whether or not this threat is technically possible, I consider such behavior completely unacceptable.
I encourage everyone to exercise extreme caution when dealing with these Telegram-based unlocking services. My experience resulted in financial loss, broken promises, and repeated communication issues.
I will also publish the Telegram usernames so others can make their own informed decisions.
Be careful and always use payment methods that provide buyer protection whenever possible.
PS, i will PAY but now afterwards no more in advance payment!!!!!
