I think it wasn't for the core group, Amy wouldn't have ended up being married to Sheldon.

Raj and Howard are the reason Amy and Sheldon met in the first place.

Penny and Amy became best friends and Amy finally found the female friendship she has been looking for all life long. She helped them a lot for their relationship as well

Leonard always was there to support Sheldon when he entered the new Boyfriend role. Also when they temporarily terminated their relationship over an argument about Physics vs Neurobiology, it was Leonard who called Mary and had her mend their friendship so Leonard is the reason Amy continued being in Sheldon's life.

Bernadette also became close to Amy but ATM nothing comes to my mind which supports she played a key role in their relationship.

Ofc Amy and Sheldon worked a lot for their relationship, but without the core group in the picture I don't think they would've ended up being married. They still would've been friends (maybe), but definitely not married.

In this episode Penny sets up Raj with her deaf friend, Emily. I found this episode too funny. I don't think Howard knows sign language has come up before. Even though Raj was a bit cocky initially, he was really funny. We also got to see just the boys and Penny before the girlfriends came along (even though they were in the show they didn't play a big part).

I saw a post the other day "what's one TBBT episode you can watch the whole day?", for me it's definitely this one.
