I just got told that my job will be letting me go ... (Vent)

For the last 9 months, I have been working at an English school in a non-English speaking country. I thought it was going fairly well because I was an assistant teacher, not the main teacher who handled lesson planning, curriculum, or discipline. After a previous job that left me very depressed and burnt out, I was finally getting confidence back. Then I got an email today saying that my supervisor wanted to "have a talk today after school". So in the "talk" I was told that the school would be letting me go at the end of the semester. Apparently my evaluations were "very low". It wasn't just my demo lesson, I apparently wasn't "connecting with the students" well enough nor taking enough initiative in the classes with the main teacher. I realize that once again there are so many unwritten expectations that I failed to pick up on. I was also upset with a comment, "You have a background in linguistics, maybe you could try something with that instead." (Translation: You're not suited for this job.) Don't get me wrong, I love linguistics (my "special interest"), but I've found it's not something I can make a living out of. So, now come summer, I will be without a job (and without a visa). I'm not sure what to do. Sorry, for the vent. I'm just upset right now ...
