CC1 Canvas & CC2 Opencentauri CAD now available!

Hi Everyone,

We now have CC1 Canvas and CC2 Combo CAD. See below for status of each-

  • CC1 CANVAS: essentially finished including all accessories and internal geometry barring minor CANVAS gearbox housing refinement), and preliminary CC2 combo CAD.
  • CC2 Combo: is more preliminary and is a mixture of a CC1 base, CANVAS parts, and the CC2 frame and purge bin Elegoo released (which unfortunately accidentally was the emoji edition verticals so spool holders are dropped lower than they should be. Additionally only rough CAD is available for part of the thermal shield, and the revised CC2 plastic insert is not included, nor is the modified custom toolhead fan or aux/exhaust fan system.

Files for all three printers can be downloaded from our github repository which also includes FDM optimized replacement parts for the base CC1.

Additionally there are live viewers for each printer on the OC docs for each printer:

If you can contribute to CAD revisions, especially for CC2 as none of the CAD-focused project members have one, please create a pull request on the github, or message on the OC Discord.

After a lot of CFD runs this is the final design of my 5015 toolhead cover for the centauri carbon. It is the lightest toolhead cover available coming in at 30g for the printed parts in asa. Motivated by my stock fan being broken i made this to be compatible with common bambulab 4 pin pwm fans which are very cheap and easy to come by. It has similar overall cooling performance to stock and performs way better in bridge testing. There also is a cartographer version available, but you need to do a boardswap in order to use it.

All in all this has been an amazing learning experience and I'm considering doing one for the CC1 Canvas/CC2 down the line.

The reason i made this cover so overly stiff is that my previous cover was making really unhappy noises when pulling 12g, this makes a lot more sane noises when doing silly accelerations. Though that stiffness in addition of the reduced weight help with ringing.
