I have 4x4, I want dirt.

Found an old atv trail that I wouldnt trust any full size truck on, but the frontier is skinny enough, still scraped the sides on every little branch lol

Came across several drops and scrambles but the truck handled it well, crawled about 2 miles before I found my limit for a night drive and turned back. Tons of fun overall.

Cooling problems

What is the normal operating temp of the 2.2 ecotec? Cruising it likes to run around 180, but if i get stuck in traffic it heat soaks up to 220 and I cannot figure out whats going on.

New parts include: Thermostat (185⁰), coolant, cooling fan, and relays for high and low speed. The previous owner had a 50amp fuse in the high speed, and a 30 in low. They're now both 30 like the panel shows.

Water pump doesn't seem like the culprit as there aren't any signs of it. There are no leaks anywhere in the system and I did a block and radiator flush.

This is still a fairly new car to me so im unsure of where to go next.

Front end rebuild, now Heavy steering

So I recently got the car back together after replacing the clutch and slave cylinder (2.2 eco manual).

I also added some new parts while having the front apart, new strut towers, lca's, sway bar links, disks and pads. But ever since the steering has been incredibly... heavy? Stiff? Like I haven't driven it through town because its so hard to turn i dont want to cause an accident.

Anyone have a similar issue? Any ideas what would have caused this? The only thing I did with steering rack was unbolt from subframe and knuckles, then reinstalled.

Can the knuckle be too tight?

Edit: nevermind guys, im just dumb. Forgot to plug the EPS back in on the fuse panel.

Hydraulic system (clutch)

I picked up an 06 cobalt, 2.2 sedan, 5 speed. It drove home alright but I keep having issues loosing pressure in the slave cylinder.

I tried bleeding it a few times, I'll get the clutch back for maybe 10 minutes, then no pressure. It finally quit today and I was tired and fed up so I pulled the bleeder entirely, hardly any fluid. So I decided to pull the valve off the slave, again, no fluid.

Doing some googling I cant find a solid reference but off the master cylinder is a round ring-thing, connects to the master, then the line running to the slave. My thoughts are a hydraulic damper?

Does anyone have any idea whats going on? And if anyone has advice on pulling the master out that would be appreciated!

Edit: I think its the Master Cyl, fluid goes in, no fluid out.
