I tried posting about this a few weeks ago, but the mods never approved it. Now that I’ve received a replacement hot knife, I’m convinced this version is just straight-up garbage.

I have comparison videos, but I can’t share them here since YouTube links aren’t allowed.

The new hot knife barely heats up and I have to keep nudging my dabs off the ceramic tip, which completely defeats the point. The old version worked perfectly. I never had to shake the pen or mess with it at all and it just did what it was supposed to do.

I’ve now tried two different pens with the exact same issue, so this clearly isn’t a one-off defect. Support keeps insisting they heat up to 120° like the old version, but my dabs sure as heck are not sliding off.

The biggest giveaway is that I can’t even smell the dab on the new one. With the old pen, it would start melting almost immediately and slide right off the tip with zero effort. This one? Nothing. It just sits there unless I manually push it off.

At this point, it feels like a downgrade being passed off as a better product.
