Is it the seller's choice to decide what to do if the item is damaged, or the buyer's?
I had a disappointing experience with this seller. The product arrived with the contents leaked throughout the package, making it unusable. I immediately informed the seller and shared the issue.
Communication was very slow, and after being ghost, as she was not responding to me but commenting on other posts, repeated follow-ups, the only response I received was: “I won't be able to take it back. I have offered you the resolution I am capable of at this point of time.”
I have sold good number of products here but only once my item got damaged in transit. I immediately asked buyer what she wanted, refund or some other compensation. It was a MAC highlighter still I did what's fair entirely from her POV as a buyer.
Here I had paid ₹700, but the seller refunded only ₹300, leaving me to bear the remaining loss despite the product being not partially but entirely damaged on arrival and did not even give me a chance to
I don’t believe it was a fair resolution for a product that was unusable due to her poor packaging. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend purchasing from this seller.

Seller not responding after item received is damaged
I have been a seller on this sub for a long time, though I rarely make purchases here. A lot of you know me because of my pug declutter posts.
Recently, I purchased a Bioderma face wash, but it arrived broken, leaked, and damaged. I immediately sent the seller a DM, but there was no response for a couple of days. I then contacted them on WhatsApp, where they replied that they were out of station and would get back to me later.
It has now been four days since that message. The seller still hasn’t responded or provided any resolution. I also noticed they were commenting on other posts today. When I sent another message, there was again no response. Additionally, it appears they have hidden their posts and comments from their profile.
I genuinely want to give the seller the benefit of the doubt and handle this fairly. In your opinion, how long is it reasonable to wait before concluding that they are unwilling to resolve the issue?
