Every time I die, I make a new character
No map, no portals, fire hazard, items remain at death. I call it Legacy mode. Its like a viking enters Valheim but there's actual useful infrastructure in place. Buildings with clothes, tools, and food. Roads with signs. Dead vikings with full gear can be found.
I'm looking for the Elder have been dying on a new island in the swamp. I had to build a new boat and I found my body. I died like immediately, tried a raft of shame and died at sea.
Now I'm on the starting island again and have to migrate to get new copper before setting sail to get back to the island #2. There's wooden tower built pointing which way to sail.
I've actually made it island #2 twice but like I said, I've exhausted everything I left behind
