He’s actually just a scaley puppy that loves his toys.

Pierogi was recently moved into his forever (well, maybe) 6x2x2 enclosure. He was previously up on a stand and now it sits on the floor. Apparently now he’s a big boy with no rules. 😂 This is my night every night. (I love it.)
Dexter said “Feeling cute, can I bite you later?” My little demo… I mean, angel, Dexter will be 1 in August. When he’s out of his terrarium he’s super sweet. When I’m getting him OUT of the terrarium, I’m getting a welcome snap no matter what. Not a bite just a quick snap and then he’s fine. I’m working with him. I think I messed up by tong feeding him bugs for a while and now he thinks it’s always tongs. I stopped doing that now, so I hope he’ll catch on. Or he may always give me a welcome bite. 🤔 His name is Dexter because I’m pretty sure he would off me if he could. 😂 but I adore him!
Hey all. I got my corn snake 3 months ago and he’s 1.5 years old. The breeder always moved him to a tub for feeding and then put him back. I don’t prefer this method for my snakes at all but he is playing hard ball at switching this method. When I break down and put him in the tub after he won’t eat for 2-3 weeks, he eats immediately in the tub. Should I just consider this snake a tub feed snake despite it not being my preference ? TIA.
Hey all. Please don’t give me the ol’ Reddit rip-a-part if I’m wrong because I haven’t USED this method or left it like this for my skink. I just got a 6x2x2 and the dome over the mesh is not doing it at all. I see some people mount their lights inside the enclosure and I was able to hook my dome light to the support bar like this. It’s on a dimming thermostat and I have a heat gun to measure everything below. Also digital thermostats in multiple areas. You can’t really tell in the picture, but it is much further forward than those climbing items and I truly don’t think that he would or could touch it but of course I can’t be sure. Is this OK or should I really just get another dome and put it back on the mesh and try to heat it up through the mesh with way more lights? Thanks.
Hi all. My Axolotl Orbit is 18 months old and I’m 97% sure she’s a female. Lately her mid section has been bigger than usual. The rest of her body isn’t bloated. Just her tummy and she isn’t pooping as often. She gets 1 large night crawler every 3 days right now. I read that females can get eggs at this age and she could be chubby from those. She’s in a 20 gallon long with a HOB, sponge filter and bubbler, temp 62, Ammonia- 0 nitrite-0 nitrate -10 PH- 7.3. She’s my first axolotl so I could be a little paranoid and worried. Also, she’s not floating in this pic. She likes to hook her foot on the plant and just chill like this at times. She swims and walks the bottom perfectly fine. Thank you!
Hi all. This is my baby, Shroom. He’s a year old in August and weighs 38g. I got him when he was 12g, put him in a 12x12x18 and quickly learned he was not happy at all. I put him in a 6 qt shoebox tub until 30 g and he’s been doing wonderfully. Over the last few weeks I’ve tried the 12x12x18 again and a 15qt tub to make him more comfortable. He is not having it. But when I put him back in the 6qt he is back to his usual eating-crazed self. Some may say that I just need to leave him in the larger and he’ll adjust. Not seeing him touch food for a week at a time when he’s normally eating like crazy is just too much. What would you do? When do I try again? I know I see many people on here say their babies did great immediately but that is very obviously not Shroom. TIA.
Hey all! I just ordered my skink a 6x2x2! So excited. Any tips for heating this thing? They sell the radiant heat panels but are a little pricey so I was wondering if anyone uses a dual dome lamp and if so, which one ? TIA!!
Hard to get his colors inside so I took him on the deck for a minute in the sunshine ☀️ I love this boy. 🩷
I’ve had my corn snake Reign for about a month. He has just now started chilling out in the open. Last night was feeding night and he was looking at me like I was late. lol I love him. He’s been such a blessing to me after my first corn snake escape due his idiot owner underestimating a gap. (It’s me.. I’m the idiot.) it’s been 3 months and I still look and set traps. :( but Reign brings me so much joy. 🩷
My regal is coming on 2 years old next month. She’s been slowing down and I thought downsizing her would help her out and I put a ton of extra things up top so she doesn’t have to worry about sticking to any sides. I messed up so bad by switching her because for two days she’s been doing the little web dance and nothing is coming out. It’s so freaking sad and I feel like such a POS. I had no idea because my jumper that passed a bit ago at age 3 was making webs until the very end. Didn’t even think about it. I posted in local groups to see if anyone has some donor webs their spiders have moved out of to try and get her one. Idk I guess I just had to share because I feel so horrible and as a warning. She has plenty of leaves, hides, and fake webbing but watching her try is killer. 🥺
My B. Hamorii is out quite often. She is 4 years old but I’ve had her for about 4 months. She does have a burrow she visits but she is always sitting on her cork round, looking out the side of her enclosure or chilling on her slate rock. She doesn’t appear to be stressed and eats well. I just thought they hid more ? TIA.
This is silly but I just have to say how sad I am. My 8 month old corn snake went missing 9 weeks ago and I can’t figure out how to move on. I’m not giving up on him ever returning, but I’m struggling to not let it consume my thoughts and I’m constantly in “looking” mode. It sucks!! Any tips on how to just.. let it be what it’ll be ? I’m just sad at the thought of him lost or that he could be so close yet so far. Don’t be an idiot and underestimate any gap/hole, my friends. 🥺
The results of Pierogi’s shed test came back on *his* first birthday! Not a breeder but it’s fun to know. It’s a boy! 😂 💙
