For those with both HMM and Realize - which would you choose?

One, the other, or both?

I have two HMMs, Van Blade Liger AB and Berserk Fury, my two favorites from the original anime. they're bigger than I'd like but that's all that was available when I bought them.

I wanted to get more - Genosaurer (purple), Shadow Fox, maybe Lightning Saix and Liger Zero, but held off because they were large and take up so much space.

I don't paint my kits - just assemble.

RMZ is a thing now and I've read plenty of comments for and against them. It looks like Realize is the same scale as Master Grade Gundam so they'd fit with my collection better. This video from a year ago compares the Genosaurer for HMM and RMZ and for someone who doesn't paint, the color of the plastic for the RMZ pops much more.

If you have both HMM and Realize, especially for the same Zoid, which do you like more? Or would you get both? Is there any reason to get HMM if RMZ eventually has all the same models?

Help me improve how I make pancakes

I'm new to stainless steel cooking. I have an All-Clad D3 10.5" pan, and cook at a glass-top electric stove. I am making pancakes using Kodiak Cakes mix (approximately 1-1 mix to water).

What I've been doing is:

  1. Heat pan at burner setting 7 (medium-high)
  2. Test with water droplets until water beads (about 2 min)
  3. Add avocado oil (high smoke point) and turn the pan to coat evenly
  4. Let it sit on the burner for another 30 seconds to heat further
  5. Lower burner to 3
  6. Pour mix
  7. Flip when one side is cooked through

This works (and it's nonstick!) but I'm running into a few challenges

  • It seems like I have to use a LOT of oil, like the pancakes are absorbing it. I have to add more oil if I'm cooking multiple pancakes in a row
  • It's finicky getting the lower heat setting right, 3 or 4... it's easy for the pan to start to get a bit too cool (starts to stick) or too hot (starts to burn the pancake)
  • Might just be using Kodiak Cakes in general but it's challenging getting 'fluffy' pancakes.

I'm new, you might not be, so I'm interested in your advice!

Scratched the chainstay on my new Madone - how to repair clearcoat?

I feel really stupid. I bought a new Madone in Hex blue, road it literally two times, had the bright idea to add a cadence sensor to the left crank arm - and not test the clearance. I went for a 16 mile ride today and didn't notice anything wrong, then came home and felt resistance when rotating the pedals. Turns out the sensor case was rubbing against the left chainstay the entire time.

Based on the debris on the sensor it looks like both clearcoat and some of the hex blue paint came off. I know I can't expect perfection but is there any way to smooth out the damage so it's less noticeable?

And since I don't have power meter pedals or cranks, how do I put a sensor safely on a nicer bike like this?

Making handwriting ink search work on iOS or Android?

Years ago I had Surface tablets with styluses. Something great about using OneNote was I could take notes by hand inking with the stylus and those handwritten notes were searchable. No conversion of Ink to Text, it just worked. I don't have those Surfaces anymore, but I can open the same notebooks today and the search still works.

I'm considering getting a dedicated tablet with a stylus so I can take notes. I'm investigating and getting inconsistent feedback. AI tools are saying that this is a feature only for the Windows desktop version of OneNote and others do not support (neither Android or iOS).

I did some tests and here's what I've found so far:

  • Handwriting written on the Surface is searchable on a modern Windows machine.
  • Handwriting written on the Surface is searchable on my Android phone
  • Handwriting written on my Android phone is not searchable on Android
  • Handwriting written on my Android phone, on Windows:
    • Is not searchable by default
    • If I go into the notebook, highlight the ink, and choose 'Treat Selected Ink As > Handwriting' - it works!

It looks like the OneNote Windows app has the ability to make this change. Is that the only way? Has anyone found a better way?

▲ 6 r/Zwift

I've been using Zwift for years across different Windows machines. It always loads slowly compared to any other app. Today for the first time I tried running Zwift on my Pixel 9 and it was an astounding night and day difference in loading time. Mere seconds to sign in and get to the pairing screen. Quickly able to load maps.

I just tested on my gaming PC from around 2023. Zwift took 39 seconds from the sign-in screen to the pairing screen. AAA games on Steam load faster. I adjusted the Windows graphics setting to force Zwift to use the GPU and the same load then took 21 seconds (but maybe it was cached?).

Are there hidden settings or something I can tweak to get Android-like performance?
