How to wrap a spiral around a 3D Object

For some reason I cannot for the life of me think of how to wrap a spiral around this to make a candy cane stripe? I'm sure there is an easy way to do this. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

In search of freelance character modeler (paid)

Hey all - I’m a design director in NYC working on an IP based project that needs some characters from a relatively well known brand modeled. I can get into more details over email but I was looking for someone that is skilled at modeling body geometry, faces, etc. this does not need to be realistic and is more cartoon style. Models need to be broken up in such a way that colors, materials, and textures can be applied easily.

Happy to field anyone who is interested!

Potato milk bread hot dog buns

Made my friends some Carolina dogs with homemade slaw, chili, and buns. The buns turned out great - kinda tasted like a dinner roll :)

34 y/o L4L5 right paracentral bulge turned into sever hip pain

Hey all - I am reaching the end of my rope with this pain. Looking for someone who has had success treating a similar injury. It turns me into an awful version of myself and I am tired of feeling trapped in my body.

I believe the beginning of this started when I was working with a personal trainer about 2 years ago. She encouraged me to start deadlifting and we worked on bracing technique and told me to make sure I was always bracing during every excercise. There was not major event where I fell to the floor but over the course of a few weeks I started to notice some pain in my lower back that felt like extreme tightness I could not escape. I am worried all this time I was bracing incorrectly and may have been overdoing it putting too much pressure on the spine.

Wen to primary, they told me to go to PT. I live in NYC and went to Spear where I paired with a woman fresh out of school. She diagnosed me with tight hips and hammies and we worked on those for weeks - it did help but sure as ever the pain returned and evolved into the hip pain I am experiencing now. After PT I was able to get imaging done and it was actually an L4L5 herniation so I think it was mistreated a bit. At this point I went to an Ortho doctor who told me we can go micro disc surgery or try the shots. I really want to heal this naturally if at all possible and have been trying all sorts of lifestyle changes.

Switched to sit/stand desk, bought a new mattress (casper), trying to walk more, taking juicy joint (I know...the internet)

Through all of this I have continued to work out as best I can. My workouts have shifted to the first 20 minutes being stretching and exercises like dead-bugs, cat/cow, glute bridges, etc and then about 40-50 minutes of lifting on a push/pull/legs split. Haven't deadlifted in a long time, stopped back squats a few months ago. The hip abductor and adductor seem to help with the hip pain.

Recently started seeing a chiropractor and I can't really tell if it is helping either.

I saw a 'biomechanical chiropractor' in Atlanta and she told me that it is because my hips are at different angles and that is the cause of this injury not healing. She attributed it to playing rotational sports for years growing up and yada yada yada but I am just so weary because everyone seems to tell me something a little different.

I have also tried massage and acupuncture with no real results other than temporary relief.

Things that suck - getting up from low seated position or laying down. Sometimes it's almost impossible due to the pain IE doing a normal sit up. Rolling and adjusting in bed is excruciating. Getting out of bed is awful. Putting on shoes is awful. Driving seems to really set it off. Walking and standing are ok but the pain is still there - just much less. The moment you tense right before you sneeze also is quite painful and it leads me to not be able to sneeze. Laying on the couch too long hurts. At this point basically everything has some level of pain associated with it. If I brace my core now, I can feel it in my hip. It's hard to find any position that is comfortable

The pain seems to move around the outside of my hip/glute area and if feels really deep in there. Lifting my right leg is awful. Little to no distinguishable pain on my left side. I can tell my body is just tense to try and protect me but it is causing aches and pains in other parts of my body now and I just want some relief. The low back pain/tightness is still there but the hip pain far outweighs that now. Recently I have started getting some acute pain on the outside edge on the bottom of my heel when I do hamstring stretches (unsure if connected). I'd love to hear if there is anything anyone has had experience with that actually helped.

FWIW I also deal with a good deal of stress and anxiety and have had some gnarly panic attacks in the past - not super common but maybe 1 per year. The kind that wake you up at 4am and make you feel like your dying. I know stress is probably the worst thing for this and I am working on getting into therapy for that.

Anything is appreciated
