Starting the hellstrip journey!

We live in a newly built community and by some miracle my HOA was ok with this! Putting in some oak bare roots this fall and starting some seeds/plugs over winter.

Zone 5, MN

Will she make it, doc?!

Between a failed tree strap while out of town and the dang Japanese beetles my st. Croix elm is in pain. Given leaf damage, any thoughts on prognosis?

Planted bare root from a gravel bed nursery last fall.

Hate these guys so much

I know, I know, it's that season. I just keep finding new spots they decide to feast upon and want to complain.

I think I may just get a flamethrower at this point....

This beauty arrived today!

Proud Minnesotan here! I've been waiting to get this puppy for a bit now. Didn't realize the laser loon had decapitated the snake until I unfurled it. Hopefully flying this brings a smile to my neighbors

Black walnut still dormant?

I found this black walnut sapling growing out of some wood chips I laid down last spring tried transplanting it and it did well last summer. Is it cooked or just super late to the party this spring?

To replant or just tie?

I planted this innova poplar about a year ago. With all the leaves and high winds she is off center. I had it staked last year and wonder if I need to restake or if more drastic action is needed

It's about 11' tall or so and maybe a bit over 1.5" in diameter
