Insomnia back with a vengeance - perimenopause?
Ladies in perimenopause - this one is for you.
I've battled insomnia my entire life. My parents always chuckled off the sleep walking and ability to operate on little sleep. I feel like early intervention would've helped me a lot.
Now that I'm officially in perimenopause, insomnia is presenting differently - like anxiety. I get these waves of panic and adrenaline when falling asleep. I'm on progesterone, which they claim helps, but isn't. My normal go tos aren't working: melatonin, Zquil (only as a last resort). Doctors seem very unwilling to prescribe anything actually helpful in terms of sleep medication.
What's your experience?
And much love to everyone today operating on little to no sleep. Be kind to yourself.
