Insomnia back with a vengeance - perimenopause?

Ladies in perimenopause - this one is for you.

I've battled insomnia my entire life. My parents always chuckled off the sleep walking and ability to operate on little sleep. I feel like early intervention would've helped me a lot.

Now that I'm officially in perimenopause, insomnia is presenting differently - like anxiety. I get these waves of panic and adrenaline when falling asleep. I'm on progesterone, which they claim helps, but isn't. My normal go tos aren't working: melatonin, Zquil (only as a last resort). Doctors seem very unwilling to prescribe anything actually helpful in terms of sleep medication.

What's your experience?
And much love to everyone today operating on little to no sleep. Be kind to yourself.

Advice for strong willed 4 year old

I'm at my wits end.

My 4 year old is very strong willed. She argues with me about EVERYTHING. She has to be in constant control (when to get dressed, what to eat, what to read, what to watch on TV) or it's full on screaming, tears, throwing herself down on the couch, saying mean things ("you're not my mom anymore" - i just chuckle to myself).

She will FULLY COMMIT to the role and not give in. It will go on for hours.

I often find myself reacting to her reacting - raising my voice, bartering with her, etc. I recognize this is NOT the right approach.

I am sick of being late places. I am sick of my other daughter having to wear headphones because of her screaming. I am sick of not putting her to bed on a high and loving note. I am a loving parent, but I am out of patience.

I know numerous kids that have ruptured their ear drums due to ear infections, lots of fevers, congestion, etc. but not reporting Flu B, strep, or the usual suspects.

Waste water dashboard showing Flu B is high but trending down - but it's not that.

Anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: Just to be clear. Im a parent looking to set some expectations on a treatment, healing time, contagion, etc. Weve been to the doc and been tested for everything they got, so just wondering if there was information anyone else had. I have two asthmatics in my house and one is a child, so I’m cautious and proactive. And yes, I forgot to name COVID because I’m running on little sleep and forgot. Don’t make it political.
