SiFi Networks - Not Allowing Bridge Mode???
Hi everyone, in a bit of an interesting pickle... got my TFiber installed 2 weeks ago through SiFi in the Southern California area. I have a Ubiquiti setup like a good majority of people who get fiber do... and I called the day after to inquire about bridge mode for my ONT (Nokia XS-2426X-A), only to be told SiFi networks gave the order as of 6/1 that they are no longer "allowing" Bridge Mode to be enabled due to "the firmware taking a long time to apply".
Surely no ISP would be this nearsighted would they??? This creates an absolute headache when it comes to port forwarding for stuff like NVR's, NAS's, servers in general because of hosting, double NAT issues for gaming...just to name a few. I was told that there is no timeline on when there can be an expected change but that T-Mobile is fighting SiFi because of endless complaints about this, and even stranger, my local SiFi tech and VP said that they 100% have the ability to enable it, and just need the ticket request from T-Mobile...
Anyone able to provide additional insight on this? I know it might be a crapshoot but I'd really like to see if anyone has intel on what is going on with this...any help would be appreciated!
TLDR; SiFi networks not allowing Bridge Mode on ONT's, T-Mobile is fighting with them due to customer complaints but no timeline on when this could be fixed / re-enabled.
