buying my first millipedes soon!! looking for feedback + few questions

hello!! i am planning to get two giant american millipedes soon :)

i am planning on buying a 10 gallon tank for them, and covering most of the lid with cling wrap to hold humidity, and part of it with a cloth of some sort for ventilation.

i bought scotts topsoil as a base, and i plan to mix spagnum moss, oak leaves, and rotting hardwood from a seller on etsy into it. i also have mushroom compost i could add, does that help anything? the substrate will also be deep, at least 5 inches.

does it matter what kind of springtails i purchase to go with this species of millipede?

where can i buy captive bred millipedes right now? i hear lots of mixed opinions on places. i want to get a male and a female

i'm looking for feedback before i purchase anything else, i want to make sure my setup is good and i'm not missing anything 🙏 decor recommendations would also be nice, all i have is cork bark in my cart

this is my tank so far,, (10 gallon) it feels kind of plain right now and i'd really like to get some plants, but i'm scared of pesticides. where do y'all get your plants from?

front opening 10 gallon for ivories?

hello!! i'm looking to get a couple ivory millipedes. i have a 10 gallon front opening tank right now i was thinking of using, but i'm iffy.

the front part could have substrate ~ 3 inches deep, and i know they need deeper substrate. would it be bad if the front was 3 inches deep if the back end had much deeper substrate to make up for it?

bought a husky shelving unit i wanted to use for fish and reptiles, says not to use for aquariums

not sure if this is the place to ask,, basically, i bought a shelving unit that can hold up to 1000 lbs per shelf. i heard people say this brand was good for fish tanks or reptiles, so i just picked one out that i thought was good. after being nearly halfway through putting it together, i noticed in the manual it says it cannot be used for tanks.

idk what to do. would it really not be able to hold maybe a 20g long fish tank and some reptile tanks? does anybody else own this kind of shelf? should i just return it?
