I’m a new(ish) revert, my faith is in a bad place

Salaam everyone, I’m a revert of about 2-3 years and Alhamdulilah in this time I’ve invited a few people to Islam and they have accepted too, I’m proud of my journey overall so far.

But one thing I just can’t seem to shake lately is the rigidity, and judgemental attitude of the broader Muslim community especially online on comment sections (and offline too for that fact) and the fact they all love to criticise a new reverts efforts and only point to what they’re are NOT doing correctly. I’ve seen a new Muslim woman revert posting a video of her talking about her experience and the entire comment section is roasting her about hijab.

Another brother was giving a talk and people were just absolutely flaming him for having his sides shaved or something like that. Another video of a Muslim hijab girl hugging a rescue dog that was dying due to the van they were using to relocate the animal crashed, and even in such a moment these people find the time to talk about haram this haram that.

The reason this is so tough for me is because I come from a VERY “non Muslim” background. Drinking, women, etc etc, and I was still doing those things in my first few months of being a Muslim and found it so hard to reconcile my belief in Allah and trying to understand and love him, with “acting like a Muslim”

The only thing that got me through this was the hadeeth about Aisha RA saying how if they initially started with teaching rules like don’t drink, nobody would be a Muslim, which obviously means FAITH and TRUST in Allah is not only the most important, but a multi year process! And so it’s truly heart breaking when these “haram police” just flock towards these new reverts and put them on blast.

Do they really think they will be incentivised or encouraged to further their commitments to Islam, or will it lead to overwhelm? Be realistic.

Even the earliest Muslims who even witnessed miracles were given like 13 years before they were commanded to stop drinking, why are new reverts judged for not being perfect in 30 days of first being a Muslim?

I’m just losing faith in the broader Muslim community, we definitely don’t see this issue with other religious groups.

Cyber insurance brokers: am I missing something?

Hi guys, would love the opinion of cyber insurance brokers here.

The story so far: i was looking to connect with cyber insurance brokers (I’m a cybersecurity consultant) and I heard that brokers often work with consultants to help their prospects get insurance-ready helping the broker close more business and for us consultants to work with people who actually need our help urgently.

The only thing is, I can’t for the life of me seem to find cyber brokers to connect with on LinkedIn? I found maybe 10-20 max with the title “cyber insurance broker”

Am I missing some sort of niche knowledge here? Are their job titles typically called something else?

Any security consultants here work with VC/PE firms?

Got approached by two VC firms out of nowhere, not sure what to make of it.

I run a small security consultancy and wasn't really expecting this. Two separate VC firms reached out recently. one wants help evaluating portco security during due diligence, the other asked if we offer "perks" for their portfolio companies (still not 100% sure what that means practically).

I said yes to both but I'm kind of figuring it out as I go. Has anyone navigated this before? What does the engagement actually look like day-to-day? Any landmines I should know about before I'm in too deep?

Also, is working with PE firms similar to VC?
