Looking for a coastal town to visit for a few days after our week in Florence.

My mom, sister, and I will be visiting Italy this fall, September 3 - 13. The main point of the trip is to visit Florence because that's where my 84-year- old mother would like to go. She would also like to visit the coast too, as she loves the ocean. Our plan is to spend about 6 nights in Florence and then travel to a town on the coast to spend about 3 nights there before traveling back home. We're thinking about Piombino, but I would love some advice about if that is a good town to visit or if we should try somewhere else. We do not want to rent a car or drive, so access by train and taxi from Florence is ideal. We want to be able to go to the beach and get our feet wet, enjoy beautiful views, relax, and not be in too much of a busy tourist trap if possible. Thank you for any ideas or advice!
