Valve on Learning from the Past, Looking to the Future blogpost about BattlePass:

>Any single piece of content would be more valuable when bundled as part of the Battle Pass, so we bundled more and more. This led to a momentous content drop every year, but it also greatly limited our ability to do things that were exciting and valuable for players but didn't fit into the Battle Pass reward line.

>When we recognized this, we made a deliberate choice earlier this year to run an experiment: to take some of the resources that would normally produce Battle Pass content and instead put them towards more speculative updates, including features and content that couldn't fit into a Battle Pass.

>Most Dota players never buy a Battle Pass and never get any rewards from it.

Bring back ability to spectate high MMR match so community can track and identify which player who smurfs and can publicly shame those player who smurfs.

Also DOTA2 community need to man up and actually booing player who smurfing at LAN, make an actual visible impact about this issue.

Reddit consistently crying about smurfing yet on LAN just keep cheering those pro players who supposedly a role model and normalized this smurfing behaviour.

Smurfing is cheating, and it's normal in other competition or sports where crowd is hostile towards player who cheats / play dirty.

If K-Pop community can get some idol suspended because they were caught smoking in random instagram post why can't DOTA2 community at least make visible public disapproval towards pro player who smurfs which against Steam Terms of Service itself / actively hurts the game?

TLDR : Pro player smurfing actively make DOTA2 as product degrading and both community and Valve need to rethink or even more agressive toward this issue. If pro still smurfing then just bring back the live spectate feature.
