I’m very new to picking up random wood. I saw a pile of fresh cut wood and picked up this log and put it on stickers. I don’t have anchorseal because i didn’t want to get it just for one log. But i used my last bit of polyurethane and sealed the ends.

Do i need to worry about wood eating bugs? I saw bug tracks under the bark. I don’t know if the bugs are still in there. I have boracare but do i use it on the bark? I already used the polyurethane, so using it on the end doesn’t make sense.

K lemme know what you think I should do at this point.

Added an extension to my workbench for an awesome vise. It sadly has a crack in it that i didn’t notice when getting it from marketplace. Hope brazing it will hold it.

My harbor freight tail vise on the workbench just fell apart (made out of aluminum? Lol)

Made an oak extension for a swivel vise i found on marketplace. We’ll see if it holds up

I have a delta 22-540 planer like the one here i found online. I keep getting snipe in the infeed and outfeed side. I have tried snugging up the screws that adjust timing and i have a melamine board for infeed and outfeed, continuously through the cut. I think the only thing that might be causing snipe is that the planer head is moving as the wood is coming through. The handle doesn’t perceptibly move. Is there any way to lock the planer head so that it doesn’t move through the cut?
