Which mainstream scd character solves this case?

Which mainstream scd character solves this case?

Genuinely one of the hardest cases in fiction and also one of my favourite ones.

I know how this sub is not that much into detective characters as there is a common misunderstanding that detectives aren't good at outsmarting.

Also i once had made a post on how a character doing being better in a situation in his verse which other characters from other verse would find hard doesn't directly make him better.

I made this post not because of people misunderstanding on detectives being bad at outsmarting but because i recently found some scalers downplaying poirot in YouTube.

Their argument was that characters like yuuichi are better than poirot and can outsmart him which i don't think is the case.

Also the argument was on mid tiers being able to solve this case which i don't really think unless the mid tier possess as much as skills as poirot which itself contradicts as poirot is not a mid tier.

I have seen posts about cases by higashino, And then there were none etc but not this one.

important point, mainstream character, iam asking about the popular characters that are often scaled in this sub.

Not the likes of ellery queen or kiyoshi

So who do you all think can solve this case in poirot's position?

Iam obsessed with detectives

Why this picture? No specific reason. It's akira from the mansion murder series by yukito ayatsuji and he is one of my favourite japanese novel writer and i love his books.

So iam a huge fan of mystery thrillers. Especially those with detectives and i started with the popular ones like novels of conan doyle, agatha christie, Horowitz, Leblanc etc.

I love detective trope so much. I love how characters either socially active or not comes to a room, uses their reasoning and applying logic through the knowledge they have and reading the people around the room and finding the culprit.

I have heard that detectives are bad at outsmarting many times from different people and it's totally wrong. Yeah it's true that some detectives lacks in categories like manipulation but saying that all detectives are bad is pretty much a bad take.

My love for Japanese novel started way after i read works and watched works that were popular. I used to think that the characters i know were the best detectives and slowly i started reading Japanese novels.

I have to say that Japanese novels really don't hold back and sometimes there are disturbing scenes. I always loved mystery thrillers from japan not just novels, i loved manga, drama, light novels and movies too.

What i love about japanese mystery novels is how logically explained they are. The characters apply great logic and everything would be perfectly explained in a way that the reader can understand itself but at the same time it doesn't sold off stuffs.

I would not lie, my knowledge on Japanese mystery novels is very less because i don't know Japanese as iam a non Japanese and i am someone who yearns so much for such novels to get translations.

I have heard a lot about many novels which are still not translated and just from reading documents or analysis i can understand how much i would enjoy it if i could read it myself.

i have missed a lot of works just because of the language boundary i have and i am really happy whenever someone in this sub talks about japanese mystery novels and it's characters.

Due to works not being translated or not being available, i sometimes go for their alternative options like manga or live action adaptations based on them and i often get disappointed but what can i do? There is nothing i can do

Also i have to say this that Japanese novels focus on the progress and actual methods rather than just focusing on narrative and since everyone is into scaling logical characters along with feats that are explained, iam sure how many characters would be high tiers.

There are many Japanese characters who are high tiers just from a few works and some characters only get a single book and it's often hard to have feats on several categories just from a single book.

Overall, iam too obsessed on detective fiction and because of that, i love Japanese mystery novels.

Also it's fine if you don't like detective trope. Iam just talking about my obsession with detective fiction.

My friend told me to read some translated works instead of crying about non translated works and i already have a lot in my read list which already have translations, so i should probably try it.

Currently iam reading a manga of an untranslated light novel and the protagonist from what i have heard has even better reasoning than the likes of sherlock, poirot etc but the manga is kind of not that good and it's generally considered as a bad adaptation

But i will still read it just because of my love to detectives and iam not going to reveal the name because i don't really think it would be worth the time

Not analyzed enough

Yep novel characters are so under analysed in this sub.

The only few novel characters that got enough appreciation were characters like hannibal and sherlock. But i have to say that even sherlock is not that analysed in this scd comparing characters like hannibal.

Iam not saying that novel characters who are great at planning, manipulation etc are analyzed properly. To scale a character like sherlock, you have to read many works and i have seen many scaling sherlock in the term" canon sherlock " while only reading the works by conan doyle

I have always found it weird seeing how rarely poirot is mentioned in this sub even while poirot is on the same level of sherlock.

There are several high tier characters from novels and no, iam not talking about japanese novels that's literally on a different level and i can understand how some don't scale some JP novel characters mainly because some works not having translation but many of the classic novels has translations and is pretty much available.

I remember someone making posts about ellery queen and dupin some weeks ago and i highly appreciate such efforts

Nowadays i don't really see manga characters, popular manga characters like baku, aki etc being unexplained or analyzed less.

Biased or not, there are actually many posts about characters like baku and aki and saying that they are underrated and not analyzed enough is not really a true statement.

I can understand people saying novel characters are often overrated by others just because they are novel characters. I myself had made a post way before on how certain people larp novels in order to make them view really knowledgeable and how some people agree novel characters scaling high without even reading the materials.

This post is not about novel characters being underrated or overrated. It's about novel characters being analyzed less.

In my opinion, characters like lupin, poirot, edmond dantes etc needs to be talked more in this sub

A vigilante manga

The name of the manga is amateur vigilante and it's an ongoing work. It's a very enjoyable work

The story focuses on oshiro, a thirty year old man who is often seen as an outcast. He has an extremist plan on saving japan and that is by assassinating a prominent politician and his whole changes when he finds his neighbour yotsuba being abducted by the yakuza.

In order to save her, he commits a massacre and now he has to face the consequences.

I really enjoyed reading it and the character is not a guy with high tier knowledge or anything. He has good planning skills and adaptability.

Unlike showing a character with high level knowledge, his character is pretty grounded like tetsuo from my home hero even though both are very different.

The series also has lots of fights as it is one of it's main parts. So try it if you just want to chill reading something while having very few scd elements.

So this is recommendation by me. I haven't seen this character or this novel getting much appreciation in our sub.

The character's name is kyouko okitegami and she is from the novel "bokyaku tantei".

The novel has 15 volumes and i have only read 10 volumes and i still have to read the rest. She is one of the smartest female detectives that i have seen.

The novels have translation and there is also a manga but the manga has only covered the first five volume and has stopped publishing as the author published that manga to promote the novel and i would recommend you all to read the novel.

There is also a drama which i haven't watched. So try it guys.

For me, she is a solid A tier, might get in A+ but i don't see her going any low.

So who are your favourite detectives from mangas? The answer doesn't need to be someone who is omniscient or someone who is a genius with 200 iq.the answer can be anyone. You can tell about anyone.

The guys in the photos are one of my favourites and they are also pretty underused in scd except kudo. If you don't know them 1.hajime kindaichi(kindaichi case files) 2kudo(detective conan) 3.kyuu renjo(detective q) 4.sou touma (Q. E. D)

So tell me who your favourite detectives from mangas are and also mention which manga they are from so i can check those if i haven't and also include them in my characters list.

u/thefoxwhocooks — 6 months ago

Who recognize my goat? I could have got better photo if i checked the manga but now i am focused on ron kamonohashi deranged detective manga.

I will soon scale him after re reading the all the Q. E. D mangas. He is pretty good and his cases also needs good knowledge in physics, chemistry, maths etc.

So if you don't know him

His name is sou touma He is from the manga Q. E. D

So i have been in scd for a long time but mostly in youtube. I haven't joined this sub before but i used to check this sub and of course, the scalers in youtube. I was introduced to many characters thanks to scd.

I liked this sub because of that. I wasn't visiting because i wanted some high tiers. What i wanted was to getting introduced to new series, manga, movies etc. But it's been a long time since i have introduced to new series in this sub.

It's always the same characters that is getting scaled nowadays. It's always characters from usogui, death note, danganronpa etc.

People are always focusing on high tiers. Many people in this sub aren't enjoying the media they are reading but they are always comparing the characters in that media with high tiers. I respect the introduction of chinese novel characters but most of the people aren't finding it interested because of the long number of chapters.

Some people are reading or watching a particular manga or series to slander the characters. I even started to not like this sub anymore due to that reason. I always thought that scd was to scale more and more smart characters and enjoy their media instead the sub is only glazing high tiers, the same high tiers each and every day.

I have found many underrated and underused characters that should be used in scd. I will be introducing them here. There will characters from all type of media. Characters that scale from C to A+ will be the most. There will be also characters that can be included in s to s+ tier. I atleast have more than 100 characters that are still not introduced in our sub.

So you can type any underused smart characters if you want, they can be realistic, semi realistic or unrealistic. it doesn't matter, i would gladly include them into my checking list.

u/thefoxwhocooks — 6 months ago

my initial plan was to read one outs this week and scale all the smart characters made by kaitani. But i think, i should take some time before that.

So i decided to read RKDD. It's also completed and also have many smart characters.

I think according to my tier system there would many characters ranging from C to B+ So i am going to read the manga. I have not seen them getting scaled in reddit while youtube has been scaling those characters for a long time.

So wish me luck

u/thefoxwhocooks — 6 months ago

So i will be scaling all the smart characters made by kaitani. All of them from mangas since i haven't watched dramas related to them.

For now i have already completed three of the works but i still have to read the mangas of tokuchi and kamo. After that i will be placing all the characters from the works on my tier list.

For kyouko, i will be only scaling her from the only translated chapters. She is pretty good within that and i don't know if she got buffed up in the chapters after that, i never know until it get a translation.

So yeah, the kaitani verse arc is here.

u/thefoxwhocooks — 6 months ago

So i will be using this system to place my characters. Iam using this because i found some problems in using the low to very high tier system because there are many characters who are really close to each other but also far from others.

For example let's take 'x', 'y' and 'z'. all are really high X defeats y on high diff and y defeats z on high diff They are close but when taking x and z, they are not that close This is a problem that i found There are also characters who give pretty much tough to high tiers but we can't place in high tiers but also they beat many tiers so that we can't place them there either, so this will my tier list.

D to c + will be pretty much decent characters B to A will be really good A+ to s+ would be mostly filled with high tiers that community sees as.

Also take the fact that i won't be scaling any chinese novel characters as i haven't read any of that. So this tier system is not applicable for them.

u/thefoxwhocooks — 6 months ago

Finally i completed liar game It was really good. I had heard a lot about it and i really enjoyed it. The beef between aki and yokoya was really fun to watch but the conclusion wasn't that good. The last game chapter one was released, i still have to check that. The manga doesn't have that good of a writing but it's not dumb either and can't deny the fact that aki is one of the smartest realistic character i have seen.

But i still can't scale him too high based on the manga as i have many character higher than him but maybe the dramas buff him up.

Also iam new to this subreddit.
