Question about a weird job interview 30 years later

When I was 16 in the late 90s I seen a job ad in the Evening Times. The "interview" was in a barely furnished office on St Enoch Square. One guy sat on a chair facing a semi circle of about 10 boys of a similar age. He said the job was to be driven around and the guy driving would pull up outside a house, point out where you had to go, you'd hand over a piece of paper to whoever answered, they'd read it and come back with money that you'd then hand to the driver, but we could never read what the note said or ask questions. Did anyone else experience this, or know wtf it was about? Part of me is annoyed I didn't stay to find out more.

We know which killers were the most arrogant and the most under-prepared..

but which killers, if any, would you have been happy to settle down for a drink with, if you could be confident they wouldnt Paul Gerard you?
