Pregnant with our fourth child, what do you think about names that start with G?

I’m pregnant with our fourth child, who is our first boy. I want to go with a more classical name to not be going through the same name change process we’re starting with my daughter.

In another post, someone suggested Grav, and it got me thinking about grayvee or graayvey for a boy.

I know Gravy is growing in popularity following Yung Gravy’s fame, and I’m not sure if G names are overrated for a boy.

(I chose Satire Tag guys! Don’t worry! I would spell it Gravy)

Is it “wrong” to choose a name you saw on a license plate for your child?

I saw a license plate that really resonated with me, and I would love to use it for my daughter’s name. It’s so elevated and elegant, I love the spelling and pronunciation, and I can’t stop thinking about it!

It was MRN 1799, obviously I’m not using the numbers! More-een. Or mir-een? I can’t decide because I love both!

Update: Legally changing my 18 month olds name because everyone calls her by a nickname I hate

I didn’t share my original post with my husband until I got the first message from a family member, but him and I read through every single comment and DM (unless you deleted it before we opened it).

A few hundred of you weighed in, telling me I am abusing my kids, they should be taken away from my husband and I, we are ridiculous, and have poor decision making skills. Overall, the feedback is we should change the spelling of her name rather than change Le’s name.

Things the original post has done: We’ve gotten apologies from family members. They have been purposely calling her “Lee” instead of “Le” and pushing that nickname with family and by my mother in law at daycare dropoff. But now most of them feel confident speaking their mind and telling me they hate Le more than they thought they hated Lnr.

We will sit down as a family (the five of us) and come to a decision on name spelling, but we would like to keep the sound “Ell-ee”.

Since finding out last week I am pregnant again with our fourth (and probably last) biological child, names and particularly her name have been a nonstop inflammation in my brain. I have no idea what direction to go with names If it’s a girl or a boy. (We will no longer be using WaWallace for a boy - Wally was arrested last year for CSAM and this baby has no affiliation with the Wawa Parking lot)

Legally changing my 18 month olds name because everyone calls her by a nickname I hate

Should I legally change my daughter’s name? My husband and I got a lot of negative feedback when was choosing our daughter’s name, and eventually settled on one that wasn’t my number one to please others.

Since my daughter was born everyone but me and my husband pretty much has defaulted into a nickname / shortened version of her name. Doctors, nurses, her daycare teacher. I love her full name but I don’t love the nickname!

Her name is Le (pronounced Ell-ee) but everyone calls her Lee (Lee) for short. Honestly I’d much prefer Ell! We had originally chosen Lnr (Ell-en-r) but changed it before she was born. Now I regret it and I want to legally change her name.

Edit: there are multiple ways to spell names. I’ve known Kristen/kirsten/kirksten/kristine/Kristin/Christine/Cierstiene/Cristine/christeen and probably a dozen other variations same with John/Jon/Juan/Jaan/Jaahn spelling depends on your culture

Edit2: Who shared this? My cousin saw it and messaged me

Edit3: I’m from the United States. I changed details (her age in months) but not names because I wanted actual answers relevant to my situation but unfortunately that wasn’t enough for privacy and my family has all seen my Reddit profile now. Please be kind especially if you know who I am. Text me potato so I know you know and I can compose myself before we discuss.

Edit4: full update
