The War Against Private Equity in Wicker Park
I wrote an article inspired by the reaction to Call Your Mother opening in the neighborhood. Hope it is ok to share. I also happened to predict that Guzman y Gomez wouldn't last.

Campaign to name Park #567 in honor of muralist Don't Fret
Don't Fret was a Wicker Park local who championed the underdog through his artwork. His work can be seen throughout the neighborhood. Sadly, Don't Fret passed away last year at just 36. A campaign to name a small, unnamed park after him has been created.
You can read more about Don't Fret here: https://blockclubchicago.org/2025/04/22/dont-fret-dies-at-36-local-street-art-legend-championed-the-underdog/
Are you interested in volunteering at Wicker Park? The Wicker Park Advisory Council is a volunteer-led non-profit that organizes and sponsors events like movies in the park, concerts during the farmers market, Boo-Palooza, and more! We are always looking for more neighbors to get involved.
Thanks for considering!
