The Last Harvest, 1000, Jumbo (1669)

The Last Harvest, 1000, Jumbo (1669)

Another Dutch artist - Cornelis Jetses. Can't say I am a fan, but won't hurt to complete a puzzle with one of his paintings for the sake of diversity. Cornelis is best know for his illustrations for child books, this is why his paintings are that soft and cozy, depicting scenes from everyday life.

Beside the Canal, 1000, Falcon, (3665)

Another Dutch artist, my all time favorite Willem Koekoek. The true name of the painting is not known to me: puzzle box says "Beside the Canal" yet it was sold this year on Sotheby's under the name "Washerwomen by a Dutch canal". Not much information about this particular painting in general, but at least it's depicted in full on the puzzle and colors are close to the original.

Cathedral of Saint Bavo, Haarlem, Netherlands, 1000, Jumbo (1667)

Another Jumbo's oldie from 70s with the painting of Cornelis Springer called "Cathedral of Saint Bavo". Judging from his works the guy really liked this kind of perspective. I personally enjoy the point of view - it's like you're standing in the deep shadow. This way the main object highlighted even more.

The Daily Market on the Groenmarkt, 1000, Jumbo (1662)

I really love paintings of old Dutch artists like Willem Koekkoek who depicted the life in Netherlands and decided to look for puzzles with them. The majority of such puzzles were published by the Dutch company Jumbo. This particular puzzle is dated somewhere around 70s. It depicts the painting of Joseph Bles called "The Daily Market on the Groenmarkt with the St. Jacobskerk in the back". Groenmarkt (Green Market) is the historical square in The Hague and St. Jasobskerk (St. Jacob's Church) is right beside it. I also attached the original painting so you could take a better look into details. Enjoy the life of Dutch citizens in 19th century!

Found this old beauty from Educa with "Naval Battle" by Willem van de Velde on RarePuzzles. Surprisingly it's much better than what Educa produces today. Cardboard is green and looks thicker, pieces fit tightly with almost matte finish. And box isn't too big compared to Educa's nowadays packaging. Also comes with a glue and a box stand. Long story short, vintage puzzles worth to be searched and paid extra, because they bring you more joy. Join the vintage club!

This is my first Tuco puzzle, never had a pleasure before. And I must say it was a real joy: cut is great and cardboard is the thickest I ever saw - about 4 mm! Puzzle depicts the most popular painting of the British artist Thomas Gainsborough called "The Blue Boy".

Milton Bradley's puzzles with nature and landscapes are perfect as always. This one's not only beautiful, but also quite hard.
